Hello, I am 24 and have signifcant hair loss. I am realistic that I wont have my hair much longer, but I would like to have my hair for a few more years. Unfortunately, I am apparently one of the few men who inherit hair loss from their Grandfather as no one else in the family had it and whats worse is when he was my age he lost all his hair in a matter of 12 months. I talked to a doctor and she said it was definitely male pattern baldness and I was just unfortunate to get the worst genes in the family.

It all happened 1 year ago after I shaved my head and my hair didn't really grow back to well up top. I used Minoxidil for 3 months and had 0 results so stopped (minor shed after I stopped). It then stayed thin but manageable for the remainder of the year until this November and December were I lost so much hair. Now I am almost bald on the crown of my head (I still have a few patches) and heavy losses up front.

I am realistic that I won't have my hair much longer, but if I could keep my hair for another 2 or 3 years that would be awesome. Besides the teasing from my friends is unbearable. I currently can not take any prescription drug to treat the hair loss (Thats just how it is), and I will not get a hair transplant. However if there is anything that I can do to stop the hair loss I would do it.

Currently I am using:
HairOmega DHT blocker (Saw Palmetto)
Viviscal for Men
Nioxin 2 Scalp Treatment
Nioxin 2 Shampoo
Nizoral 2% which I use every other day between this and the nizoral.
Rogaine 2% liquid and Rogaine 2% foam as of January 11th.

If there is anything else I could take I would love to try it. I feel that the combination of (HairOmega, Viviscal, and Nioxin have definitely slowed the hair loss. I am desperate for progress. I've heard about a S5 cream? Is that worth anything?

Also I am not sure about the Rogaine, it says it works on the Vertex of the Head? Has any other man out there had success using Rogaine for losses on the crown of their head? Is it worth the money.

Again I am desperate so any advice would be appreciated.

Why you can't use finasteride?
Armed services frown on perscription drug use so i can use only over the counter remidies. Like I've said, I've cut my hair off multiple times. I just dont like the bald look and want to keep what Ivgot as long as I've can.

Since you stated a doctor checked it out; did you get your DHT measured?
If it is as bad as you say it is then perhaps it is time to consider other options such as saw palmetto, finasteride, dutasteride, ru and so on.

Again no perscrjption drugs but i am taking saw palmetto with very positive results, significant slowing in hair loss, when it is paired with viviscal and nioxin, if there is anything that doesnt require a doctors perscription id love to know about it.

Why don't you contact Hasson and wong for their topical solution. It is a topical, yes it is a prescription but it's not orally taken so I don't see why you couldn't use it. When you say "frowned" upon does that mean prohibited or... apperantly it's absorbed a little but worth a try in your case.

Job is to great, would rather go bald. Like I said I just want to see if I can get a little regrowth on the crown of my head. Not necessarily the front. If anyone has had success regrowing hair in that region with Minoxidil and Saw Palmetto and I love to know.
