Regardless if she's in a relationship or not, going up to her and telling her "I want to go on a date with you" is never a good opening line, it has rejection written all over it, no matter how good looking you are.

You need to work up to it before asking a girl out. Although it's good to be blunt sometimes, when it comes to dating, it's a big no.
