So, I'm going to see a Doctor next week to talk about starting finasteride. I'm 24 and new to this whole thing. My original post can be viewed here:

My hair loss is in it's infancy stages but I figure might as well start before its more noticable.

Three Questions

What age did you all start on finasteride?

How long have you been on it?

Also any regets due side effects or anything else? Happy you did it?

Age: 21

How long: A little over eight months

Regrets: The only regret is I didn't start it earlier instead of being in denial the past 3 years. Side effects wise, I had some minor sides in the first month but they went away after a while.

20 now, startet finasteride at 18.

Got some gyno after being on it for 4 months. Had good results but it wasn't worth it. Estrogene lvl was WAY out of range.

What types of side effects did you experience?

Got some gyno

Forgive my ignorance but can someone tell me what this poster means by that??

Thx!

Well to be honest I don't know whether it was from the fact I realized I was losing my hair or the medicine. I had erection problems but when I think back I was pretty depressed anyway for other reasons that first part of the summer.

They ended up going away after a couple of weeks.

I was very young when I started it - I was in my early 20s - and I have no regrets. It was the best decision I've ever made and today (I'm 32) I still have lots of hair.
