What can stop the burning?

Or better yet, what in the world causes this buring in my scalp, particularly in the vertex region (which, incidentally, is where I'm thinning)?

I've used Nizoral, T-Gel, capex shampoo. While there has been days where I hardly felt a thing in my scalp, the other days I cringe at the searing pain that I imagine is causing those precious hairs to live a short life.

Now if it's all due to fungus in the skin, then what's to stop it? Does it start with diet? I've heard eating heavily processed, starchy, refined foods helps fuel yeast growth in the system.

It's the same thing with dogs too. My dog has skin irritation on his belly. I was told that's because he needs to eat his proper diet.

What's your input gang? Tell me you don't endure this crap. I'm sure getting sick of it myself and want to find a resolution once and for all.... :(

You may have contact dermatitis or psoriasis.

See a derm right away!

I did. Back in December. He told me the same thing, and he prescribed a shampoo called Capex. It's ok, doesn't lather up too well, and does it's job on certain days. But he told me it's one of those things that comes and goes as it pleases and you can only treat it.

That's not the kind of response I expect from a doctor, especially one who charges $170 per visit.

i suffered from this for years

its called trichodynia..

The build up of "substance P"

After years of this pain, I found that Capsicum shut it down.

I started using this shampoo.. some natural stuff. I only use it because it contains Capsicum. That spray I posted above also contains Capsicum

http://www.hair-alive.com

I bought the combo pack of that shampoo.. I leave that penetrator on at night and use the shampoo and the lotion after.. 3 days later.. scalp pain is completely gone.

Capsicum inhibits the "substance P"
