Wow you guys are using shampoos that I've never even heard about.

I use nizoral 2% twice a week, Neutrogena(the regular one) once a week and head&shoulders once a week.

I'd like to replace the head&shoulders by something else, maybe T-gel?

I used to use H&S with pyrinthione zinc, but noticed that my hair got thinner........so I stopped using it. There are a lot more stories out there where people have had hair loss using H&S.

I didn't know that about H&S...I guess even the regular T-gel(without piroctone olamine) will be better.

I looked around and found no nano or moogoo

I don't understand Neutrogena T-gel ... when I see it in the shop there's about 10 different varieties of it, which one does everyone use?

waste of time imo. its not gonna grow any hair or stop it going so..no point in using it.

also, hair tomorrow, how many drops of TTO do you put into your shampoo. Do you find that it is good for your scalp.

I am trying to address some scalp issues that I have.

(Sorry - I just saw this)

TTO is definitly good for your scalp. Gives your hair a little extra conditioning also. I bought a bottle from vitacost.com and several x per week I'll massage 6 drops into my scalp after work - very invigorating.

One of the TTO web sites recommended 6 drops of TTO to any 8oz bottle of shampoo - so that's how many drops I added to my biotin shampoo. Could easily get away with using more though.

I live in the UK so can buy T-gel from Boots for £5. My scalp seems fine with a daily wash - 3x a week nizoral, 4x a week T-gel. I don't have any extra irritation. Piroctone Olamine has a similar effect to Ketoconozale, just by a different mechanism.
I use the one for Dry hair as the Nizoral is drying so it will counteract this. I checked to see if the dry hair formula has PO in it and it does. I don't know if the one for dry and the one for oily hair contain the same amount of PO in though.

I only wash my hair with nizoral every three days, dont use any other shampoo's. Is this a bad idea? Will my scalp die?

I don't know if that's a good idea. A clean healthy scalp is essential for hair growth. I would shampoo once a day but use Nizoral monday wednesday & friday. I would use another shampoo in between.

Hey Lucius, just read your above post and had the exact same problem with the H&S w/ 2% PZ. Used it over the summer and hair thinned out VERY noticeably. When it first came out, I figured I'd rotate it with nizoral b/c the PZ seemed like it would be beneficial. Boy, was I wrong though - My hair took a HUGE step back.

Now, I only use Revita and Jason's T2T, neither of which have the commercial detergents, and my scalp looks and feels better (not inflammed), AND my hair is coming back.

Yeah. I noticed it definately was doing something to my hair. But I did not throw out my almost full bottle. It turns out, its very beneficial to the acne on my forehead and back. It really takes care of them after 2 applications. So the bottle has not gone to waste. But I will never ever put that on my hair.

And honestly, Herbal Essences Body Envy is amazing. It really fills up my hairs and makes it look amazing without being greasy or dull. I swear by it and rotate now with generic Ketazonole.

I thought nizoral would be good for the scalp though so presumed it would be ok to use exclusively....??

Just a little update: I bought some Herbal essences body envy since a few people in this thread are using it and are very happy with it...so far so good, I like the stuff.

+ it's really cheap.

Has anyone ever tried the Jackie Chan or Jet Li shampoos?

I was having a look at the Revita shampoo too. Anyone having any luck with that? Could you rotate it with Nizoral considering they both have the ketoconazole in them? Wouldn't it dry your scalp out too much?

I've been just using Nizoral but my scalp is dry as hell. In desperate need of some shampoo love from another brand.

A lady "in the know" from another forum recently recommended 1 teaspoon TTO to any 8oz bottle of shampoo.

I use Min New York's cleaning regime. They contain copper peptides, procapil, saw palmetto etc. Really good cosmetic products as well.

Im tempted now :) , I was wondering and I cant find the information online what the ingrediants are?
Does it seem to have lots of natural things in there?

The problem is when you try a shampoo or buy more than one for discount reasons you end up with too many shampoos lting aroudn the house, I only apply a liberal amount every other day and single bottles last ages.

I have Revita, Nizoral, T-Gel, Aveda abundance, Jasons thick 2 thin, L'oreal Thickening, Boots botantics, Nourkrin, Alcepin C1 and ermm Im sure some others knocking around too ...
