what is your regimen??

you could start using dermaroller 1mm or 1.5mm. 1 session every 1 to 4weeks

you can also try a ketoconazole shampoo like Nizoral or Regenepure. atleast 3 times a week let it sit on your scalp for 10 minutes.

i highly recommend using dermaroller atleast 1mm or 1.5mm every 3 weeks,

i highly recommend doing scalp massages atleast 3 times a week.

i highly recommend regenepure because its a quality ketoconazole shampoo ....... nizoral, its not as good.

do that for a year atleast and you will maintain and even gain ground.

, if you cant maintain or want very faster results , start using minoxidil, atleast 1 time a day....but you need to use dermaroller with it for best results.

i do not recommend using finasteride ....... good lucky

Forget all of that jump on finasteride first....you should thicken back up nicely in 6-8 months. Even start with .5 if you want and it will benefit you....don't use minoxidil untill your on finasteride at least 6 months...

As you can see in the first pic my hair looks okay if i style it ., i'm worried finasteride will make my hair look worse as right now it's not that bad.

It's far from over for you my friend. I'm not sure why the other poster is telling you not to start finastride, it's the only thing that's going to save your hair from becoming progressively worse. Even if you do shed while on finastride, you still have good coverage on the top that can easily hide it. You could even use hair fibers if you're that worried. I do also recommend dermarolling. Minoxidil would work nicely for you too, especially on your crown area. Whether it not you want to try these treatments is up to you but I wouldn't waste anymore time contemplating. I would personally begin the 3.

When I read the title of this thread I thought you were desperate and willing to do almost anything to make up for lost ground. "It's over?" you asked. But now reading you I realize that your biggest concern is not to lose what you already have, and you say that it is not so "bad", and in this sense it is impossible to know beforehand if finasteride is going to work with you or not and if your hair is going to be worse or better and the only way to know is to try it. Also...do you lose a lot of hair every day? And how long have you been losing your hair?

It's strange, i actually don't shed much hair i used to shed hair a lot worse but now not so much . Like i could run my hands through my hair and always have 3-4 hairs and make a pile on my desk. Now this doesn't occur.

Should i still take finasteride?

Yes, how old are you and what was your starting point(hairline at 11-12 years old would be ideal) before you receded. I think you may have had a high hairline since birth and you've receded and thinned a bit, but not aggressive. Although your pictures aren't clear. I'm sure you noticed a difference recently which prompted you to do research.

Realistically you're looking to maintain and possibly thicken up the hairline a bit. I don't think you'll be able to regain your temples(corners) much. But my temple corners, although it was not as deep, was similarly void and Finasteride has made baby hairs sprout back up for me.

I wouldn't recommend minoxidil without Finasteride at your stage. It's up to you to decided if you want to take Finasteride for prevention at this point. I think it's worth a shot.

I'm 24 nearly 25.

I have always had a high hairline but my hair has been thick, now it's a bit thinner and temples receding. I want to maintain what i have but worried finasteride will make me shed and look bad

Finasteride may make you shed, but only in the beginning... later on it grows back stronger than ever... If you don't jump on finasteride it will only get worse.
