I see postings of Replicel, Tsuji, Follica, and some others every single day. What happened to SM04554 I'm not sure why so many people were dissapointed it was basically a propecia without the side effects, I know the studies weren't long enough to truly know if it's as good or even better than propecia. Why isn't anybody talking about it? Am I missing something?

I just dont think there haven't been any developments since the last time we heard from them.
Although lack of information has never stopped people around here and speculating about things (im looking at you brontzu thread);)

I'm wondering why they never released their product since it performed pretty much the same or actually a little bit better than propecia without the sides.

Dude, search the forum. Every couple weeks/months there's a new member like you that comes here and frantically tries to find news on the upcoming "cure". If there was any conclusive evidence a new treatment was imminent, it would be all over the news.

Re: Samumed - their treatment didn't show a normal dose response curve. Typically, the more of a drug you take, the more effect it will have (to a degree). This wasn't the case with their topical, which makes it sort of difficult to nail down the most effective dosage as well as market. I believe they were considering another phase II trial after messing with their formula.

Yea I noticed that their dose increase didn't do anything but they could've still put a product out and made tons of money off of it, are they still working on the product or is it off the tables now?

No sense in them spending up to a billion to bring a drug to market that they know won't work long term (hypothetically), which they could very likely lose a lot of money from if people hear it doesn't work. The snake oils that make quick money don't go through FDA approval.

How is it a snake oil though if it's proven to work? I feel like they just need a few tweaks to their product and it could be better than propecia.

Its probably just still being developed. We all know its going to be years and years at the very soonest with how slow it moves. That is a large part why male pattern baldness wont cured for such a long time. It takes that long to actually get anything finished.

I hear some companies claim that their products can regrow 5 years of lost hairs and things like that, is that how it works?

I'm not saying it's a snake oil - I'm saying they might not make "tons of money" as you describe by rushing something that doesn't work well to market, especially when you consider the cost of getting FDA approval.

Ahh ok I see your point I was just saying that if they could prove their product is as good or even better than propecia they could easily make their money back from all the people that buy propecia, maybe it doesn't work as well as propecia or they know a better treatment from another company is coming soon and they won't make much from it.

On twitter today . Samumed replying to Notthathuman678
All investigative agents require a rigorous clinical trial program evaluating safety, efficacy, and regulatory review/approval. Stay tuned

So lets see what stay tuned means, except for the last update in march 2017, the rest have been October to December roughly a year apart, from each other. So lets hope the pattern continues and some news comes with in the next few months.
