What if I quit minoxidil after 10 weeks of use?

My hairs appears to have thinned out since i began using it...seemingly faster than it has been over the past few years. I cant say that I have been seeing much regrowth (could be too early to tell). For me it is just annoying applying it and kinda depressing because appyling it reminds me that my hair is thinning. So I'm considering just dropping it and using propecia instead.

I'm just wondering if I hairs that have fallen out due to minoxidil induced shedding will return after i quit. I would assume that they would..since the absence of minoxidil doesnt necessarily mean that the hair folical will immediately miniturise to the point that it cant regrow hair. I would guess that the folical would just follow the same course that is would have taken if Minoxidil had not coaxed it into growth phase. I'm hoping that using it only 10 weeks is not long enough to cause any permanent damage.

Very difficult to say. You say that your hair is thinning out because of the minoxidil? Some people in this forum say that they experience this as this is normal part of shedding process. I have never experience this but many people do say this occurs.

Anyway... your question. It is quite known that long term use of minoxidil and then coming off it, does cause damage to the hair follicle. I have experience this previously using rogaine / regaine. Years ago, I thought the stuff was not working on the temple region (roughly when I was 21yrs old). I thought it was not working and was not keeping the hair. Wrong.

I have never been able to regrow that proportion of hair.

But.... however..... this does not happen to all. Some people like me do experience this.

Does 10 weeks matter? No one will know. Everyone responds differently.
