What is the best laser out there?

I was thinking about switching to lasers. I've just been using dermmatch for as long as I can remember, but I want to try and get the hair growing again....

Affordability is a concern, but I can stretch for better results.

They are very appealing because of not having to take or use a medication; but seems expensive and time consuming...

I supposedly have the strongest one on the market and never had luck with any at home lasers. I did the in office laser Therapy for a year and it made my hair appear really nice.

I'm pretty sure it is a well known scam. I have never heard of anyone with real results. Even the result photos on http://www.hairmax.com just show someone with greasy or wet hair and then in the next photo their hair just looks washed or blow dry... not regrowth

The authors wished to confirm the efficacy of low level laser therapy (LLLT) using a Hair-
Max LaserComb for the stimulation of hair growth and also to determine what effect LLLT
with this device had on the tensile strength of hair. Thirty-five patients, 28 males and 7 females, with androgenetic alopecia (Androgenetic Alopecia) underwent treatment for a six-month period. Both
the hair counts and tensile strength of the hair were affected very beneficially in both sexes
in the temporal and vertex regions, with the males and vertex areas showing the most improvement.

It looks as though the study was done by people who might have had an interest in the Hair-Max product, but it's still interesting to see some sort of research written up like that - even if it's not the highest quality research.

Yeah, it's a small sample size. It's also not randomized or controlled and obviously not blind. It certainly doesn't inspire me to go out and spend $600 on one. But then when you consider that these things can be cheaply made at home, maybe it's worth trying as an experimental treatment.

As each patient was troubled by Androgenetic Alopecia to start with, the authors did not want to clip additional
hair for the hair counts. Accordingly, they created a clear acrylic mold of each patient’s head,
with the front of the mold positioned at the hairline, and a one-centimeter square removed from the mold in the area of greatest alopecia in either the temporal or vertex region (Fig. 3). For the hair count, the hairs within the one square centimeter space were pulled through the opening, and then counted using a surgical skin hook and a lens with five times magnification.
Hair counts were carried out by both authors to confirm the accuracy of the data. To test the tensile strength of the hair before treatment and after six months of treatment, three typical terminal hairs were removed from the one square centimeter area and a VIP HairOScope (Belson Imports, Hialeah, FL) used to determine the tensile strength (Fig. 4).

Hi, how much did it cost you for these treatments if you dont mind me asking? Why did you stop and how long did u have to go before u got a noticeable result?

The treatments cost 5,000.00 for a year. I went for a full year and it def made my hair alot more maneagable. I moved to Arizona last year and couldn't go anymore so I stopped and found it cheaper to get on rogaine and nizoral.
