What is the consensus here on revivogen?

hi there

i took propecia for about 6 years and have had very mild recession since then (i'm in my mid 30s).

as a hair loss inhibitor, it seemed to work great. unfortunately, propecia may have begun affecting my adrenal function (leading to a lot of fatigue), and i stopped taking it a few months ago. i feel a lot better, and am looking into other, less invasive ways to keep what i have.

i've done a bunch of research on this forum and elsewhere for alternatives, mainly revivogen. i can't seem to get a sense for the general consensus here. so a question for the mainstays: is it for real? a scam? it seems to be the only other game in town for maintenance.

thanks so much!

Well I have recently restarted using Revivogen after a previously using it with some relatively good success a few years ago. I started using Revivogen again over the last 6 months when the new formula came out (and losing ground with my current regime).

When I first started Revivogen years ago, I maintained really well with added thickness. But I prematurely stopped it and got too greedy and made a big mistake by using minoxidil and spironolactone instead.

Ideally, I am looking for maintenance and thickness. My hair hasn't got any worse since using Revivogen over the last 6 months and its a bit thicker.

You can read my story/progress here: viewtopic.php?f=61&t=65118

The jury is still out there on how effective it is compared to Propecia.

I have recently started using revivogen, it quickly stopped my scalp itch just like propecia did. I think revivogens effectiveness is quite low compared to propecia. With revivogen I think the most you can get is maintenance not really regrowth, where as with propecia you can get significant regrowth if you are a good responder.

It is not intended for growth, only maintenance. If you are just trying to keep what hair you currently have, Revivogen would be a good alternative to finasteride.

I have used it for a year before, it did nothing for me, and it is messy as well, so I dropped it.

I honestly didn't think it was any messier than minoxidil. Use it at night and you shouldn't have to worry.

Anybody using a "topicals only" regimen consisting of minoxidil + spironolactone + Revivogen? Is it too complicated to use three topicals together? I am thinking of eliminating oral finasteride (it did work, but I am starting to get concerned about long term effects...) and go for topicals instead.....

I would use minoxidil (5% because it's easier to manage throughout the day) in the mornings and Revivogen and spironolactone in the evenings. Space the two evening topicals 15-30 minutes apart.

I've read some decent success stories but it is just soooo friggin messy

It's not messy at all, IMO.

I haven't had any problems with the dropper or the sprayer.

Where do you ever get Revivogen? Do they offer it over the counter at most stores?

I only buy it from Folica when they have their $25 off $75+ coupon.

I haven't seen it in any retail stores.

I bought it from their website. Try the code FTRDR for 5% off and free shipping.

Okay, I see how to purchase it on the site. IS there a way to have the Scalp Therapy kit without the shampoo and conditioner? I heard they are worthless and don't need added cost as I wouldn't use them anyway.

I am trying spironolactone, and tried revivogen in the past. In my opinion as safe as topicals are compared to finasteride they are such a huge pain and downright impossible to cover your whole head with the tiny super expensive amount they give you its just not even worth it. Even if it worked perfectly I could never cover all my head with it consistently with how much hair I still have. Also I do not think revivogen works anyway just a bunch of theory crafting on good ingredients with some small studies put together. I have never seen any proof it works other then people saying theoretically those ingredients have studies backing they work.
Small studies are not worth a fraction of what a study like finasteride has even if merk did screw with the results all those small studies are probably biased in some ways also.
