Hi. Maybe I never really noticed before but took a picture of the back of my head today with flash on and one with no flash and it looks like this. Is this normal? I'm currently on Propecia 1.25mg since April 12th btw.

It does look like it has less density than normal. Might not mean anything though, if it makes you feel better i know several people who don't have hairloss (yet?) and have a small part of their scalp visible like that when their hair is very short like yours. Just take a picture every month, there's a chance Finasteride will help with that (since you've been on it for only one month). But worst case scenario you could just grow your hair a little bit and it will be impossible to notice. Good luck.

I can’t tell you what that is but I can say I’ve seen it on fullheads before... how’s the density on your crown? If it’s thinning then that’s what you may be seeing

Thank you both! My crowns density isn't too good tbh. If my crowb gets fixed will this part get fixed too? Can I still opt for a transplant in the future? Also will finasteride work for this part?

It 'should' help with the crown area and that part, in fact it is supposed to help you more there than it would on temples and hairline. (and BTW, is your hairline intact?).

I think you're also asking if your donor area would still allow for a transplant, right? Maybe, maybe not, you'd need to get a doctor to evaluate that for you, but i hope you won't need a hair transplant in the future.

Thank you! Yes my hairline is still intact Norwood 1 My hair is naturally thick as you can see in the pictures. just diffused thinning hence the reason I started Finasteride.

Thank you! Are you sure? Is it normal?

I personally think it's normal. There are many people that I know of with the same ''density'' on the back of their heads, yet they're NW1s and lower.

Since you are already on finasteride, I'd just calm down if I were you. Worst case scenario, as someone mentioned, you can just grow it out a bit longer and you'll be fine :D
Even if you don't, no one will question the back of your head, I doubt it..

How's your hairline though? Mind posting a few more pictures?

Type in alt+f4. :D

On a serious note though, you are fine. You've got very good density and you are a NW1 at worst in my opinion. How old are you?
Alt + f4 that got me laughing so hard hahaha.

Anyhow I do have diffuse thinning and I'm 23. Here are pictures of my diffuse thinning. Would you classify my hair as thick or fine? My barber always says it's thick.

Looks kind of suspect to be honest, You hairline is good and so is the back in my opinion. But this made it harder judge wether you actually have male pattern baldness or not.

How come? Why do you think it might not be male pattern baldness? I had a blood test done everything was normal but they didn't check my vitamin levels tbh.
