What kind of guns do you wish you owned?

I wish I had an M16 in a gun safe locked up under my bed, locked to the metal frame. I'd only take it out for target practice and cleaning once a month or less.
They cost $1000, plus maybe some tax.

I wish I had a smaller riffle or longer accurate hand gun locked in a safe under my car seat, just in case I see someone in trouble and need to go for help. But only if there is an obvious robbery going on. I'd not get involved in other people's fights if I don't know who is on the good side.

I'd want pepper spray in my pocket.

And I'd want either a hand gun or tazer, or both in a child proof hidden container by my bed. Some night vision goggles would be good too. All hidden, and only used for emergencies.

Small guns cost $300-$500. All these taxes will make it impossible to own them. I wonder how much training classes cost. I'd have to take one before I'd feel confident using one. Gotta get advice from the experts on when and how to use them, and get good aim and control, or you might as well not own one.

I heard Obama wants to require people to have a $1,000,000 insurance policy if they have a gun, and it must cover suicides. Only problem is no company will insure for suicides, which is their right. So he gets around the 2nd ammendment that way. I guess it is a good thing since the prophet knows better than the founding fathers.

BTW, it is illegal to kill someone unless they just got through murdering someone, or are about to do so. But if someone is holding you at gun point, I think you have the right to assume they might kill you, and shoot them first. Not sure where all the lines are drawn, but I'd never shoot someone running away after robbing but not hurting someone. I'd just get out my binoculars (even better than a gun) or camera, and take care of it that way.

BTW, a voice recorder is much more effective than a gun for many applications. But a gun can save your life sometimes, espeically if you are a small guy or a woman.

I always wanted a Colt Python. Why I never bought one before Colt stopped making double action revolvers is beyond me. They are WAY overpriced on the used market nowadays.

But Colt still makes these currently, and I got one. Now that's what I'm talkin' about!!! :woot:

I applied for a concealed carry license (they are "shall issue" in Michigan). If I get approved, I'll buy one of these.

CCS: You live in Arizona (IIRC) so it should be easy for you to get a stripped lower for the AR-15. Buy a lower parts kit separately and install the parts yourself. Very easy.

Then buy a complete upper from any supplier of your choice. Del-Ton is a good family run business who prices them very reasonably. You'll save some money doing it all this way. (See below for JT Distributing Co. also.)

Problem is, with Obama and Pelosi in office right now, people are in a panic and buying so many guns and ammo that alot of stuff is on backorder. However, I've heard the panic buying is starting to wane now though.(?)

Go to AR15.com for more info. on suppliers, installing lower parts kits, etc.

http://www.ar15.com/

Here's a good reputable company in your neck of the woods. (I think they might be in Arizona. I've ordered other stuff from them and they are great.) They sell complete uppers and include the lower parts kit for very reasonable prices. Just get your stripped lower.

http://jtdistributing.net/store/more_k_bbk.html

The stripped lower is the "firearm" per BATF regulations and the 1968 Gun Control Act. Therefore, you'll have to go through an FFL to get the stripped lower. Gunshops in your area or any local FFL could tell you more about this. (Just go into the gunshop and ask for a stripped lower for the AR-15. They might be on backorder though, so call around.)

All other AR-15 parts are not regulated so you can receive them through normal mailing.

Since I'm older, I got mine way before the Obama commies got into office. Once again, "now that's what I'm talkin' about"!! :woot:

Why not do a S&W686? I would like a Python as well but every gun show/gun shop/gun seller I have seen seem to think that even if it's in terrible shape, you should pay about as much as a new Colt in some cases. :thumbdown2:

Then again, it is Colt and besides I love my Grandpa's M1911A1 but I have been thinking of getting a Colt XSE Government model due to it having ambidextrous safeties (nice for a southpaw like me). :woot:
