Hello
Im considering getting on foam and currently am experiencing general thinning on the top and crown, no bald spots yet though, would it be reasonable to expect rogaine to thicken up my existing hair that is beginning to thin? and those of you that were able to get some results from the foam, what exactly do you mean by "results"?

thanks a lot everybody

Ive been using it on my crown and hairline for almost a year now and id say you can definately expect at the very least maintaince of the crown if not regrowth. Its a real pain in the *** to apply everyday for the rest of your life so make sure ur commited. Because if you stop your hair will fall out (hair that you re-grow) although that is not 100% certain. Overall id say my experience of Rogaine on the crown has yielded positive results and iv'e had definate mild re-growth, but its far from a miracle drug. The negatives may well out weight the positives interms the hassle of applying it etc. It really depends how much you value your hair. If your hair is just starting to thin forget rogaine, get on Propecia right away. I think rogaine is more of a last ditch hope if Propecia fails. Leave Rogaine up your sleeve for later.

i dont know what he is talking about rogaine being such a hassle, unless he means the liquid. however, the foam takes me about 30 seconds in the morning after brushing my teeth and another 30 seconds at night/ evening. and yes i had thinning on the top and my crown was getting pretty bare, but since the end of july when i began using it my hair has drastically thickened and my crown is already filling in somewhat.

i dont believe stoping rogaine/any hair loss system means you will loose your hair. In most cases this is true. However, im planning on changing my diet, and eating lots of anti dht, and blood flowing veggies.

I think if you do that you can keep your hair and stop the treatments, but only if you do alot of healthy stuff, like diet, exsercize, scalp massage, etc.

That's like saying if you stop cleaning your teeth you don't believe that they'll deteriorate.

There's lots of things in life I don't want to believe and it's called denial.

Vitamins, iron, saw palmetto, msm, (onions, garlic) can all cause hair regrowth. What if everyone is thinning because we dont drink enough water daily? What if were all low on iron?

A healthy diet can fix that and we may need to eat foods with omega 3 for example.

There is lots of hair stimulating chemicals in wheat protein and walnuts and much more.

Then there is the famous skin needling, and scalp massages, different excersizes that claim to regrow hair. If you use a stimulant such as minoxidil, now all the DHT is gone, and the hair is back, no more need for a stimulant unless you dont solve the source of the thinning, not just its symptons.

With all that I think thats the only way to not loose your hair while quitting minoxidil.

stopping foam will make you lose only hair that foam grew.

it's not a hassle at all, takes a minute in the morning and a minute at night. it's no different than brushing your teeth in my opinion. you stop brushing, your teeth will get yellow n decay.

Yes and after 1 year and an half of treatment you can stop doing the two time a day routine!
I'm waiting forward to that although it's not that much of an harrassment, I would never have tried minoxidil if the foam wouldn't exist.
