Hi everyone!! I'm new on this forum! I've been worried about my hair lately :( I don't have male pattern baldness running in the family really but I also know that it can skip generations! Anyways I have some questions I would like to ask..

1)I've always had quite fine hair (not see through fine or anything but fine in texture) does fine hair have anything to do with male pattern baldness in your experience?

2)Is it just me or is the mature hairline (norwood 2) a recession that is perfectly in line with the sideburns? Because that is exactly where my hairline is and if you check the norwood scale it is clear that a norwood 2 hairline sits just above the beginning of the sideburn meanwhile the norwood 3 goes beyond that.

anyways this is what my hairline looks like at the moment. Do you think I'm right about the norwood 2 or is it beyond that? Thank you very much!

I'm 22 in a week! :) So I'm guessing this is just my mature hairline? It's so weird my dad is easily a norwood 3 and checking pictures of him when he was 26 it was already way receded but he's 54 now and his hair hasn't changed a bit. still norwood 3.. It's weird how for some people hairloss just seems to stop at some point.

True that! I guess it's just a different way to ask the same question since my hairline is exactly like that.. Did I do something wrong? :(

Well, the guy on the first pic appears to have a mature hairline. But on the second one (you?) you can see that also the rest of the hair on top is thinning (compare to sides). To me that is not just a mature hairline.

This is off topic but JGL has been losing it for at least a couple years now, his temporal recession is especially obvious in recent pics. Nothing severe though and he's probably on meds now.

No, he has a buzz cut. Hair doesn't go in the same direction, it just looks a bit thinner on top because the hair goes forward, while the sides and back grow downward.

OP needs to post better pictures from different angles if he wants to get better feedback.
