Honestly if it was just picture five I think most people would say NW2 - 2.5. Honestly ever other picture screams normal maybe maturing hairline lmao. Your density even on your temples is amazing and probably the thickest hair I've ever seen. I'm not going to say that there is no loss because you said it yourself that you noticed it recede. You're probably sitting at a NW0.5 - 1 WORSE CASE scenario dude. If it is really worrying you keep taking pictures every six months and look for a change. Definitely looks like you just have a really dense low widows peak that makes your temples look recessed. If you took your buzz cut pic and gave yourself a straight hairline (get rid of your peak) it be apparent you have minimal if any recession.

Yeah I started thinking I had recession after my hair started parting a little weirder but I'm starting to think that's how I comb it. I'll probably take finasteride in a year so I can maintain this

You can do self assessment of your Norwood status. It is very easy and after watching some YouTube video tutorials you can be a master in assessing others Norwood status ,not just of you.self study is must.
Will do. I watched Nick Shell's video on it and it was pretty helpful

Yeah I definitely am. My Dad started losing hair around 30 but my grandpa for Mom's side still has thick hair at 60. Praying I get the latter genes xD
I don't want to be the guy to say "nah dude ur fine just enjoy it" but if that's true that your maternal grandfather has most of his hair and provided your dad isn't balding that aggressively you may want to hold off on the finasteride. Look at older celebrities that aren't on finasteride (probably Conan) and check out his hairline. For his age it isn't bad and to a certain extent its a normal part of ageing. The whole point of fighting it is to stop premature ageing, or if you really want to keep all your hair until you die you can do that too. Honestly though it could just be maturing if that's what your familial line looks like.

You think I should take action with this level of recession?
If it were me, and you have a strong family history of balding, I would start doing something. Minoxidil at the least. I am not sure about taking finasteride for a male just turning 19.

Can minoxidil regrow temples?
In your case, it might thicken up those areas but regrowing your temples is possible but very uncommon. You hair is really good enough to not worry about that happening. At this point you want to maintain and thicken up what you have.

Will probably do that. Have you experienced any side effects from it?

If I use it twice per day at the maximum dose, I get some facial bloating and the bags under my eyes get puffier. This does not happen to most people so I would use it at the maximum dosage which is 1ml twice per day. Good luck.

Thank you I really appreciate it! Good luck to you as well good sir! Also do you think this is the start of male pattern baldness or my hairline maturing?

Most people believe they are one and the same. Except with a mature hairline, you remain that way for life without any progression once it forms.

Got it. Yeah I think I accelerated hairloss by having shitty diet and sleep in University last year (would have an average of 1 meal a day and it would be pizza). Hopefully I can keep my mane until a decently old age. Good luck with your hair as well!

Don't want to sound like an a-hole or to bring you down, but when I first joined this forum back in 2006 I got the same advices as you: get on finasteride and minoxidil, maintain what you have, etc. I did that and all I got was bad sides and perhaps even accelerated hairloss.
