Basicly im loosing ground after almost 2 years on finasteride and about 3.5 on minoxidil and considering options

Im trying to relieve some of the anxiety about my hairloss by making a plan of what my options are and if see if I am doing all that is possible to me

Im SLOWLY weaning off minoxidil because ive seen no major improvement while on it. Plus when i first started it i went from NW1 with a temple with some thining to NW2 within months wich leads me to believe that i dont respond well to it. Im currently using it once every 2 days.

So far my plan is to get dutasteride somewhere in a near future and try to make sure my hair is stabilized so I can get a hair transplant in a few years( Im 20 so Im too young right now)

Other options I contemplated:
- Homemade spironolactone cream (Gave up on the due to possible sistemic absorption)
- RU (Lack of a reliable suplier turns me away)
- Dermaroller (Will try on temples for a few months just because its cheap)
- Stemox (Garnier Fructis version)(Its cheap enought, dont know if its worth it though)

What do you think about theese? Should I try anything else?

Ill upload a picture of my left temple in march vs today( Different angle, sorry), any feed back is appreciated
Thank you

The difference is minimal. And you start from a very good hairline still.
Have you used ketoconazole shampoo? Apparently using it with finasteride gives better results. The reason is, of course, controversial, but the results are there...

PS: and anyways I would not sweat it yet

I think the angle makes it look better than it is, heres a couple more pictures

Ive tryed nizoral 2% but it left my hair and scalp super dry.
Would a ketonazol cream be a better option?

If finasteride did not help you, then duta could, as it seems to harness much more DHT. However, please consider that side effects might be stronger.

As for the ketoconazole cream, I do not know if it is a good alternative to nizoral. It also leaves my scalp dry, but IMO this is how it works: dries the skin and allows the minoxidil to pass more easily through the scalp. How do you apply the cream without it touching your hair and drying it?

Maybe a conditioner could help with either the cream or nizoral?
Whatever you do, I would not stop minoxidil. Finasteride (and dutasteride) work better together with it.

Ill probably try dutasteride since i had no sides on finasteride.

I dont think its the ketoconazole that dryes the hair and the skin but the shampoos other components

I just dont think minoxidil is worth it to me, ive never had any real results with it. Maybe I just dont respond to it.

How has the custom solution in your regimen been working?

It is just another addition to the arsenal of partial remedies that we have. I think it works in the sense that it grows some new hair in the temple area, but to say it is satisfactory in terms of the density it gives would be a lie.
