What Percentage Of Balding Men Are On/have Tried Treatments?

When I see another balding man walking down the street, what are the odds he's on treatment? Do most people just let their hair loss run its course?

I’d say 5%? Most people have a slow burn balding and don’t really go bald until like late 30s... at that point most people are married and have kids, it sucks but is easier to accept.

I’d agree that it’s not a lot. A decent amount have heard of minoxidil but not finasteride.

My cousin still thinks he’s going bald because he wears hats.

I don’t know why people reflexively blame these weird random things... hats, shampoos, not enough gummy bear vitamins...

I'd say about 1 in 10. Most of the people on treatments are young people with early onset male pattern baldness that have quick access to the internet. By age 30 about 30% of men are balding and by 50 its about 1 in 2 men are balding. A lot of guys don't care, especially since these people usually bald later in life. I've been balding since 14 and on treatments since 19. No success yet but I'm staying hopeful.

I would say more men have tried minoxidil than Propecia.

If you talk about treatment in general, I would say maybe 10% would have at least tried something. If you're talking about treatments that actually work, AKA finasteride, probably 1%.

Probably a good 10% I think as we get older the percentage will rise as more actors and influencers are actually talking about it a little more than they used to.
