Hello!

I am 23 years old guy. I had been using minoxidil when I was around 18-19. And It had really worked. But later on I had quitted and my hairloss increased by years and now I am the guy whom people will start almost naming me 'the bald guy...'

So I wanna stop it.

I was using ' Bepanten- Bemiks - Almond ' mixture (applying it twice as week, keeping in on hair for few hours and then wash.)

Now I stopped it and I started using Minoxidil Forte %5 since 12.02.2013

I use some anti-hairloss shampoo.

I try to drink Green Tea as often as I can.

I don't wanna use ' Prosperia' or sth similar to these, bcz I am worried about side effects.

Is there anything you want to suggest me? I put pictures. So, tell me, do you think it will work on me? Or do I just waste my money?

12.02.2013 The day I started Minoxidil

I have pretty much the same history as you do. I used to use Minoxidil a couple of years ago, then stopped, then started using it again in November 2012.
With minoxidil, I'm sure you will be able to hold your current status.

You said you were worried about the side effects of Finasteride (ingredient of propecia, proscar etc.)? Look at actual scientific studies ( http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23067029 ) Only about 2% of the men experienced erectile dysfunktions over these 5 years.

I for myself will start using Finasteride once my order arrives in a week or two. I'm gonna do it like this: Start with a dose of 0.25 mg/day and take it for a month. If I don't experience any side effects I will gradually increase it to 1 mg/day.
You can also start by putting a 5 mg tab of finasteride in your minoxidil bottle and apply it topically. If you have any side effects using that method, you should for sure not use it orally.

There are other possible treatments as well, for example flutamide, which is also applied topically, that you may try out on your own risk.

I personally don't think that drinking green tea will help your alopecia. I assume your parents/grandparents are bald?

All the best and keep us updated!

Thanks for the reply :)

Do you think I will be able to grow some new hairs without using any Finasteride?

Well, on the one hand there are scientific studies, i.e. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15316165 (it says in 52 % of the minoxidil-only users they encountered an INCREASE in hair count).
On the other hand there are other cases here in the forum, i.e. http://www.gourmetstylewellness.com/interac...onths-Rogaine-(Frontal-Areas)-Awesome-results.
Plus, you can find videos like this one here on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mur2Rpa02Es&feature=plcp

BUT, it always depends on your physiology. There are also cases where minoxidil did not work at all. I personally think that it will at least keep your current status. You've got nothing to lose! Just try it out for at least 6 months (though I'd say 12 months minimum) and see if you're satisfied with the results. If you haven't experienced any regrowth till then, you can start thinking about finasteride again.

Btw, start reading through the other treatments like nizoral in the forums as well, to get an overview and a better understanding on how they work. You should be able to clarify the risks yourself and make an own decision on whether to use the medication or not.

EDIT: I hope using the links was legitimate?

This morning, I was happy, I was feeling my hair getting thicker and thicker...
But today I went into shower, and I lost hair, may be not too many, but i did... And I feel sad now...

You will always lose hair like this-- i have been using minoxidil for 6 years and i still get bad and good months. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Try and not think about it, stick to your routines and I'm sure things will get much better!

Considering your age, and the pattern and loss, I think you were destined to be hairless and it is aggressive. Green tree, fish oil and any supplements alone will not help or halt Androgenetic Alopecia. You need medicinal remedy if you are serious about your hair. minoxidil. will help, but I believe finasteride/dutasteride. might do miracle if you start asap. You will probably get some filling on your back and top, but the frontal would get harder and harder. The frontal needs aggressive approach, that is medicinal intervention.

Well; I started minoxidil and for 3 weeks, I have also been using Finasterid 1 mg/day... and Nizoral twice a week...

I can see a lot of yellow small hairs on my frontal. I hope those will turn into thicker real hairs :) I cannot say anything about my back but I believe if it works on frontal, for sure it will work for the top :)
