Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone can help. I'm just about to turn 24 and my receding hairline is getting worst and worst and starting to notice hair thinning on top of me head as well.

My treatment is currently:

Proscar 1.25% (2-3 years)
Minoxdil foam(4 months) twice a day, was using minoxdil syrip for 2 years before going to the foam
Nizoral shampoo 2-3 times a week

Im really not to sure where to turn next can anyone recommend anything because i keep losing hair?

Am i to young to get a hair transplant? Should i got to a hair studio who claims they can treat your hair like advance hair or ashley and martin?

What should i do, if someone can guide me in the right direction that would be great!

cheers

Matt

I've been using minoxidil for over 2 years but switched to the foam as my scalp was getting itchy on the syrip but I will continue to use the foam. And I don't really apply to the top of my head because that isn't my worst area so good point mate.

How often should i wash my hair I currently wash it 4 times a week. Should I be washing it everyday? What does everyone else do?

Has anyone tried the rivogen system and can that be used in conjunction with all other treatments?

Cheers

What norwood are you?? You've had a pretty solid regimen and although you could be more dedicated with the minoxidil, Sounds like you've put up a good fight, but you just might not be a great responder to finasteride/minoxidil. If what you're doing doesn't halt it, you don't have a ton of options (aside from a hair transplant which I'll never condone).

I'm in between a 2-3 on the norwood scale.

Has anyone tried the Lemo laser therapy or any type of laser treatment?

I have also just began takin saw palmetto tablets as well as have heard good things from mates.

What is so bad about getting a hair transplant i keep reading up on how effective the treatment is these days? The only thing i dont understand is once they insert the hair in my case would be around my receding hairline, what happens if you continue to lose hair on other regins of your head?

thanks for your guidance mate

cheers

Stop everything that you are presently using, as it's obviously not working for you. Consider natural alternatives.

Your goal should be to stop further thinning, and maintain.

finasteride can lose effectiveness in some people in 2-3 years. That may be the problem. since you are on 1.25mg/day already I would recommended a switch to dutasteride instead of an increase in finasteride dosage.
