What Norwood would this be/how bad is the recession? I'm 21 years old, and don't want it to get worse. At the same time, I hope I can regrow some hair on the temple region with finasteride. Thoughts? If for some reason I take finasteride and get off of it, would my hair go back exactly to what it was before starting?

Norwood 2?

Looks like you have a prominent forehead. Could be a 2.5 I guess, but it doesn't really look like it's receded away from the temples all that much. Looks like more of a consequence of having a big forehead.

I would start finasteride to keep what you have and apply minoxidil for possible regrowth, if you’re a good responder, to hair line and temple areas.

Your hair is still really thick and its normal to recede a bit with age. If I was in your position I wouldnt take finasteride just yet unless your family history of hairloss is fucked, but I can see why you would want to take it. If you take finasteride and then stop it doesnt bring it back to the point of when you started, it will bring you back to whatever amount of hair you were genetically predisposed to have at that point in time.
