Just wanted to add more :)

This might prove pretty useful I think.

(I threw minoxidil in even though it's not an antiandrogen like all the rest, just because it's another interesting one to gauge the successes and failures of)

In principle, it's a nice idea, but it needs to be far more detailed.

Polls shouldn't be used, rather a forum-wide survey asking such details as:

Personal Details
----------------------------------
Age:
Norwood:
Age of onset:
Age of post-NW3:
Average speed of hairloss:

Intake
----------------------------------
Treatment(s) used and in what quantity:
Diet:
Weekly exercice:
Supplements (if any):

Baldness in familly
----------------------------------
Father (Norwood, what age now, roughly what age went past NW3):
Uncles; father-side:
Uncles; mothers-side:
Grandfather; fathers-side:
Grandfather; mothers-side:

Hormonal levels (if available)
----------------------------------
DHT
Testoserone (Serum)
Testoserone (Free)
Estroidol
etc...

Results (based on person's estimation, with 0 being equivelent to baseline, and a -10 to +10 scale used to rate improvement, for example +3 can be classified as 'some noticeable improvement')
----------------------------------

Results after 1/2 year (temples, crown, all-over):
Results after 1 year:
Results after 1 1/2 years:
Results after 2 years:
etc...

There are a lot of other things that can be asked, these examples just give an idea. Once a thorough survey is drafted it can be posted to each and every hairloss forum and translated to any language as appropriate. Users would be able to make one submission/post each and asked to mark their entry with a unique user-name, so as to minimise duplicate data. Naturally as people tend to add-to, subtract-from and change their regimens after about half a year, 1 year or so; the survey should be made in a way that is flexible enough to record such data too.

Once enough data is collected, it may actually become useful. I have some experience coding Artifical Neural Networks - basically mathmatical models which can identify various patterns in sets of data, and correlations between various factors (for example the correlation between a treatement and hair-loss after 1 year). I won't be available for the next year or so, but if you really want to make yourself useful than you can look into conducting such a survey on everyone you can find in forums, real-life, etc... and then when I can come back maybe I can do something. Certainly beats making up half-baked theories Hoppi.

I think it gives a nice gauge anyway :)

It's cool to see the results starting to stack up!

Ah wow :)

To be honest, I was mainly focusing on anti-androgens but then decided to put minoxidil as well as it's such a popular treatment. What I might do is let these 2 threads and polls run for a bit longer, and then when they have I will make a third one with all the remaining major treatments :)

Copper peptides, Prox-N... and any others that people think should be included!

Personal Details
----------------------------------
Age: 23
Norwood: 2 heading into an NW3V
Age of onset: 18
Age of post-NW3:
Average speed of hair loss: Was thinned out noticeably in a NW5 fashion by 21

Intake
----------------------------------
Treatment(s) used and in what quantity: See Regimen
Diet: Healthy and lousy
Weekly exercise: two to three times a week (running and weight lifting)
Supplements (if any): Zinc vitamin for general health

Baldness in family
----------------------------------
Father (Norwood, what age now, roughly what age went past NW3): 59, NW1 with age related hair loss
Uncles; father-side: NW1 (youngest, 50), NW1.5 (second oldest, 55 ), NW3 (oldest, 60)
Uncles; mothers-side: NW3 by late thirties, NW6 by late 50's passed away recently
Grandfather; fathers-side: Thinning on top in his 40's, NW1 but very diffuse in a NW5/6 pattern at 82
Grandfather; mothers-side: NW5 by 28/29, NW6 by his 30's, probably an NW7 at death but not for sure

Hormonal levels (if available): N/A
----------------------------------

Results (based on person's estimation, with 0 being equivalent to baseline, and a -10 to +10 scale used to rate improvement, for example +3 can be classified as 'some noticeable improvement')
----------------------------------

Results after 1/2 year (temples, crown, all-over):
It's really only at 5 months, a month shy of 1/2 year. but...

Hairline(forelock): +3
Temples: +3
Crown: +5
Vertex: +3

Overall: +3.5 or 4

Satisfied and hope R.H. does not happen again.

Good going Obsidian!

Would like to modify it though, so that the survey is only for each half year. So for one half-year you fill out one survey, then for next half-year you fill out another survey. This is because people's regimens change, on average maybe every half-year they'll modify something and thus it would be good to keep track of that so that we don't end up with erroneous data.

Sry for the thread hijack!
