What We Saying Boys Is It Finasteride Time?

19M ive got to a point where I have two choices, I can either start finasteride now or wait until September (won’t be able to source it in the next few months)

Is my hair bad enough that I need to start now or is it less urgent than I’m imagining

Your hair is very thick. Only thing I'd be worried about is your hairline potentially. However, this just looks like a mature hairline. I'd say because you are only 19 you may want to consider finasteride. Might be a good idea to pick some up just in case and start if you see any further recession.

A good way to track a mature hairline is by furrowing your brow and looking at the top wrinkle. Usually that wrinkle is where your juvenile hairline was. It's completely normal for your hair to recede to about one index-finger width above that line. The corners for you look to be higher (mine are 1.5-2 finger widths above the wrinkle). If the corners go more than 1.5 finger-widths above the wrinkle, I'd start finasteride.

I think I’m already beyond the 1-1.5 finger index to be honest and while my hair is pretty thick it definitely feels less thick than it used to - although maybe you’re right and I should hold off for a little longer

It's really your call. It is at normal mature hairline now I think, and it's possible it could stay there. If your hairline moves back any more though I'd hop on finasteride.
