What will you do when male pattern baldness catches up with your treatments ?

Well since going on treatments my hair has never been so good

Ive read a few people saying on other forums that after 4-5 years most people on the meds will be back or close to baseline!!

That got me a little depressed but i guess it depends how aggressive your hairloss is.

Well I'm 17 (18 in six months) and already one the Big 3 (apart from Propecia, but SP is replacing it until I'm 18), so I'm basically gonna last for another 3 - 4 years maybe less, so I'd be 22. Too early for me, and I wont be able to cope with the jealousy of all the guys with head full of hair walk past.

To be honest, I haven't seen a lot of "it's been 10 years and the meds are starting to fail..." threads

I mean, I know this is what everyone thinks - but is it a fact? There don't seem to be a lot of threads on the topic. Who is to say finasteride will lose its efficacy in 5, 10, or 15 years? Everyone is different!

I've been on finasteride coming up on two years and it stopped my loss from the day I started taking it, thickened my hair, and regrew on the crown. I'm 27 now, and I hope when/if it stops working I'll be happily married, have kids, and will have a more stable life where hair loss won't be such a major factor (i.e. attracting mates).

I ain't thinking about failure in treatments. Yeah it's possible but I don't know how you can say it's inevitable without enough research and evidence supporting it. Every person is affected differently by treatments, and maybe some stop reacting favorably to it after some time. Corey hart taught me one thing....to never surrender.

I am a much more optimistic person, and I think within 20 years we will be able to prevent male pattern baldness. Inhibiting all androgens could completely stop male pattern baldness for a lifetime we do not know because we do not have one yet. I think science already knows enough to make something much better then the 15 year old finasteride.
