What do you guys think this is?? my head wasnt red like this the entire day (it was itchy all day tho)... only after i take a shower does my scalp get this red. my scalp also gets extremely shiney and dry... you can see cracks in my scalp. can finasteride cause this?

Do you apply minoxidil? It can cause itching and redness. I don't see any cracks in your scalp or really anything out of the ordinary.

1) how often do you wash your hair?

2) finasteride can cause this, I have seen it first hand... it is usually associated with scalp inflammation. Itching, redness, stinging, tingling feelings

3) After you shower, you may benefit from applying a little bit of EMU oil. Just a little bit and rub it into the skin. Emu oil can help a little with the inflammation and dryness imo.

4) do you have any before finasteride pics? have you been experiencing increased hair loss while on finasteride?

I was washing my hair everyday but as of last week I wash my hair two days straight then take a day off and so on. I've heard of emu oil I do plan on buying some of that stuff. If you look at my profile I posted a thread about my story. I feel ivebeen at baseline since I began treatment maybe minoxidil thicken up some hairs but not enough to make a cosmetic difference. My hairline was intact although has now receded
