I’m 19 so I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to get on propecia yet, my dad receded at my age in a similar pattern but it slowed down a lot in his 20’s so it could be better to wait but at the same time I probably should but the bullet if your age doesn’t matter. Advice appreciated

Honestly, you hairline could be good but it's highly diffuse. On the verge of a Nor 3, or a 1.5 whichever way lady luck swings for you.

What do you mean by highly diffuse? I thought diffuse thinning is where it’s your whole scalp but my hair overall is still pretty thick, or do you mean just thinning a lot in the places it’s thinning

I think that you should make a decision in around 6 months. Unless you would not care if your temples got bigger.

Go for it as fast as possible if your determined your wanna go for it. If it doesnt work out for you (which is very rare) just drop it. There is really no reason to wait since you have already decided to hop on.

You can have diffuse thinning everywhere. You got it in your temples. The hair there is thinning. It will progress to Norwood 3 if you don't treat it.

It looks normal. Many people our age loses a bit from the sides. Even I did. If it gets worse in like couple of years, I would be a bit worried then.

Actually I should amend what I told you.

I became a nw2 at 22, so I wasn't much older than you, and remained a nw2 until I was around 40 years old. Today I'm 44 and nw3 vertex.

So it's entirely possible you won't have significant hair loss in your 20s or 30s.

I advise you to take pics every few months, under the same light, from a few different angles. Keep an eye on things, start finasteride if you see more recession or a general thinning.
