I noticed the NME had run this pictorial recently. I must admit I cringed when I saw the title as I assumed it was just some smug muso journalist taking the piss out of bald musicians. It's actually not as insensitive as you'd think although some of the choices are a little dubious. Interesting to see Kirk Hammett acknowledging Rogaine although I'm sure I've heard he's on Propecia too.

What do you guys think?

I don't think you'd see a picture gallery of "When movie stars get fat" or something like that, because its not socially acceptable.
Oh well.
A couple of those guys actually look better without hair (Stipe/Corgan). I'm pleasantly surprised to see Phil Selway in there, and didn't know Kirk Hammett was losing his hair. How in the hell did he maintain such a full head of hair for so long? Maybe his genetic destiny was an NW3 or something.

Yeah I agree. The media are constantly scrutinising celebrities' weight gain/loss. Although this seems to be mainly aimed at female celebrities rather than male ones. I still think more women are likely to be attracted to a bald man than men attracted to a fat woman.

I do think it's more socially acceptable to make fun of bald guys than fat ones. For example I was at a wedding the other day and one of my friends had lost a lot of hair and was constantly getting comments about going thin on top. Another girl who we hadn't seen since school was there and had put on a large amount of weight yet nobody dared mention it in case it offended them.

I suppose people just don't see it as a big deal so feel they can criticise balding guys without offending them. It does seem a tad unfair to be made fun of for something you can't avoid whereas getting fat is generally the person's own fault yet they escape criticism!

If a guy has put on weight, most of his mates would not hesitate in pointing it out.

Yeah I agree. I don't think people have a clue how sensitive guys can be about hairloss. I certainly wish I was less sensitive.

Whoever designed that site sucks. You could only see a flicker of their image when you move the mouse around and even then it showed them when they still had hair. Stupid.
