When Should I Get A Hair Transplant? Now Or When I'm Balder?

I've been on finasteride for 4 years or so - I think it has stabilised my hair loss somewhat, but I've been continuing my slower and steady descent down the thinning scale. I've never had regrowth sadly.

I was wondering when is the best time to get a hair transplant? I still have some thinning hairs in the middle of my scalp and a fairly full crown, my temples have receded quite heavily.

Im worried that I will have to get further transplants as I don't sense my baldness is stopping anytime soon, particularly if my baldness starts eating up my crown

Another person finasteride didn't really help. Maybe it slowed the loss... Maybe. Very discouraging.

What Norwood were you when you started finasteride and where are you now?

It is very hard to tell if finasteride has had a genuine effect.

I started taking it in December 2016, I have gone from a thinning Norwood 1 to a 3. No shed, no side effects, no regrowth :(

However, I've heard of plenty of people who have had success with finasteride, we are all different!

Would you try minoxidil? I had little improvement with finasteride alone but with minoxidil my hair is definitely thickening.

Supposedly, according to the clinical studies, 83% of men using finasteride stop losing hair. Judging by anecdotal accounts here it's more like 50%.
