When to expect hairloss after stopping Propecia

I've been on Propecia relatively consistent for 11 months as of three weeks ago, but I decided to get off of it because I saw no results, the shedding did not slow and from what i remember, I didn't have significant shedding prior to starting Propecia... just slow hairloss. So I figured it just isn't working for me.

How long does it take for the hair that Propecia "saved" to start falling out after you stop using it daily? Immediately? A month? Longer?

You may have stopped too soon. I didn't see any results on propecia until the 11 month mark, and it continued to improve to the 3 year mark. Nizoral was missing from my regimen so that is a huge factor in success for me.

So you didn't start Nizoral until the 11 month mark? Did you have a flaky/dry scalp before/after using Nizoral?

What happened in the 11th month that you did not notice a month earlier?

Literally sprouts all over the hairline. Even took pictures at the time (10 years ago). Whereas I would see one or two hairs on the hairline at a quarter inch length ... one morning I looked and there were 30 or 40 of them ... all the same extremely short length ... it was at this point that things began thickening up overall, the appearance improved, my ability to style returned (versus always being flat), etc.

This clearly was synchronizatoin happening. For whatever reason I had ongoing sheds until 11 months / nizoral introduction. Then all at once its like the hairs came out of dormancy. Or at least a large batch did.

Yes prior to Nizoral at 11 months I had noticeable infuriating itch. It took several weeks of nizoral every 3 days to get that controlled.

I've had those type of tiny, thin hairs along my hairline since I began Minoxidil a few months ago. How long did it take for you to notice those little hairs starting to grow thick again? Months? Years?

That's impossible to monitor. You'd have to watch the exact same hair. I always assessed based on overall appearance.
