Hi all, just hoping for some advice around my current regime.

I've been on 1.25mg finasteride for coming upto 5 months now. It was a hard decision but unfortunately im a vein and have ahead like a golf ball so cant afford a bald head. Luckily I havent had any sides at all. :woot:

I have a slight receeder but my main issue is that my hair is starting to thin at the front...now I'm not wanting to start a discussion on finasteride's effectiveness around the frontal/temporal regions. I know people are on different sides of the fence as far as its effectiveness goes. I guess what im obviously wanting is to just nullify being able to slightly see my scalp through my fringe and temporal regions.

I'm just wondering when/if I should start on minoxidil or give finasteride longer before taking that on? I guess it hasn't got any worse than it was when i initially decided to get on the pill.

If i was going to use minoxidil i would probably go for the foam over the liquid. Is it really that much of a hassle?

Any advice is really appreciated guys so im grateful. Would be keen to hair (wordplay) what you guys would do in my shoes.

In an ideal world this is all just a means to an end until the cure this aesthetic affliction!

I'm also wondering how long into finasteride or dutasteride one should start minoxidil (if ever). I certainly wouldn't use it alone due to it apparently causing massive sheds, but with an oral medication halting my hair loss I wouldn't be quite as worried.

Hoping someone can still give me some advice around whether to jump on minoxidil or hold tight for another 6 months or so?

I would give finasteride some more time to work, everyone responds differently. In terms of Minoxidil, I would suggest the liquid because it has propylene glycol and that supposedly helps with absorption. There are some downsides to the liquid however, the main one being it makes your hair look like total ****.

Hi Cthulhu, Cheers for your response.

If I was going to use it I would only use it temple to temple and 1cm deep from hairline if that makes sense. So very little. What you mean it makes your hair look bad? Just when its in being absorbed or in general?
