Yeah that would be amazing if that came out within 6 to 7 years. So where do they get the stem cells from a non DHT sensative part of your scalp? Do they multiply the stem cells? If they injected those stem cells into your hairline would the hair grow naturally like it did before you had male pattern baldness? Can you please explain it a bit please? Thanks!

They take a sample form the back of your head where your donar area is .. multiply those cells , inject them into your scalp ... i think they would still have to use FUE to re create your hairline . .. the injected cells wouldnt grow a natural hairline ..

I use to be one of the hopeful people and would state the cheery 4-5 year mark, but since I have been loosing my hair from about mid 2002 and have been hearing the same 4-5 year comments even with the passing of going on 3 years now I have become less than optimistic. The fact I haven't read anything promising in over 5 months makes the reality of hair cloning seem even further off than I hoped it was. I have a feeling it is many, many years off and sitting around hoping it will come around anytime soon would be a waste of time, but I hope I am wrong, I really do.

I wish they could just come out with something you inject into your scalp that made your hair follicles non sensative to DHT and androgens anymore. Then your existing hair would just regrow thicker and fuller on its own or use some minoxidil for a bit then drop it because you wouln't have to worry about DHT affecting your hair anymore.

Maybe in about 10 yrs there may be a chance for a topical solution.
Right now it's being given to rats orally. For humans it will need to be topical and just that change in delivery will take a long time in the labs.
It produces hair follicles and thickens the pre-existing ones and repairs the others. Lucky rats huh?

Yeah i know eh, i wish it would be out already for humans. So what exactly are you talking about? What oral is being givin to rats that produces new follicles, thickens existing ones, and repairs the damaged ones? So this means it works for ever to mainatain too right and it would regrow your natural hairline too?

just a hunch? or are you a HM scientist.

strangely enough, i heard a ad on the radio. it just said, to all men, hair loss is the thing of the past, hair multiplication is on the horizon, so stop worrying!

--- my personal views aside on the bullshit that is advertised/said in the media, it made me feel good to hear out loud.

Food for thought. There is literally a race going on with hair multiplication. Same thing happened with the people that discovered HIV. Us versus the French. Anyway, we aren't going to hear little triumphs along the way because they would give the other teams insights into what's going on.

Frankly, the quieter the scientists get about it, the more encouraged we should be. It could be they are very close and being very quiet about it so that there's no risk that they won't be the first ones to come out and hit the news with it. Because the first team that does it, is going to have an ONSLAUGHT of media, press, and interested parties.

I have no medical background and no knowledge of what's to come but from my media and PR background, I think its close guys. If you do the research, read the background articles and the statements by various doctors, something's brewing.

haha no im not a scientist .. just from what i've been reading and what has been accomplished so far .. where they came from ....improvements from the beginning ... basically just a hunch

im not saying that i think its going to be perfected or anything in 2005 just that there will be good news and decent progress...

i read something about the forming of tumors as a side effect being are a potential problem .. but i dont know if this is true. . hopefully not

With this "Race" that is going on to perfect HM i think its coming sooner rather than later ... the more people we have working on this the faster it will become a reality!

I can only base my guess that HM or something on those lines won't be available soon on the fact that I have been hearing 4-5 years for the last 3 years and its due date never gets any closer. It seems like the only thing that is constant are the bold claims from companies, doctors, etc. that make these predictions they can't follow through on. I keep hoping some researcher will stumble onto a very effective way to restore/regrow hair, because that seems about the only way any kind of effective treatment if found.

I think around 2010 that HM will be available to the public - but quite expensive to begin with. Probably not affordable for the average Joe until after 2012-2013.

To the OP of this thread. I am from the future to speak to you from 2016

It has been 11 years since you asked your question. And many things have changed. The iphone came out. Electric cars are common now! There's 3d printing now!

But no...unfortunately, nothing to cure our hair disease.

10 years ago I didn't know what hairloss was. I could look at a Norwood-3 and be like, oh he just has a "different haircut".

The naivety of our younger days...

There is more money made from selling ongoing preventive treatments than there would be from selling a once off cure, just like cancer, and since money is the most important factor in anything - as far as the high ups are concerned - the answer is never.
