Where Are Those 5ar Enzymes Located?

Are they only located on sites? Or are they also floating arround in bloodstream?

For example, if testosterone is bound with type-1 enzymes, they will not float to hair follicles where most type-2 are located, right?

I have a theory why dutasteride does not work as effective as finasteride for some, especially the frontal area. I think maybe for some, especially in the frontal area, they are also sensitive to testosterone. Dutasteride raises testosterone too much that it's enough to destroy hairs in those area. It would be better off to let those testosterone binds to those type-1 area that let those free testosterone float in bloodstream. So the trick is to lower as much type-2 bound DHT without rasing as much free testosterone. In that case, finasteride is perfect.

I actually believe it's the opposite. Some people are more sensitive to type-I in the hairline regions which is why they don't respond at all to finasteride but respond really well to dutasteride.

I myself have been taking finasteride for 14 months with no results whatsoever, in fact continued to lose a norwood. Went to see a derm againa and will hopefully be starting dutasteride soon.

Testosterone has nothing to do with hairloss. When I started losing hair my GP ran a blood test and my testosterone came back low, so it obviously wasn't contributing to the loss. I've since made some lifestyle changes so my test is back in normal ranges

Were your DHT high? When you did the blood test, did you start to take finasteride?
