Okay so I have a dilemma and I'm not even 100% sure if I have male pattern baldness (although I think I do) I've been experiencing shedding, itching, and just very dry damaged brittle hair. My questions are is this most likely caused by the male pattern baldness and if so would finasteride stop the itching and make my hair healthier? Thanks in advance for any responses.

Get on Finasteride if you're balding. It will help minimize the itching and your hair will become healthier if you're a good respondent.

As the others have said, either post some pictures or get a professional opinion from a derm.

Pictures of my head itching and scalp being dry? Be serious please guys. My hair looks pretty much normal as I may have caught it early or it may be a scalp problem. The whole point of this thread was to see if anyone else noticed signs like this in their very early stages of male pattern baldness.

Also I've been to see a derm which was a complete waste of time, just told me to go and use different shampoos which I told him over and over I've already tried, but he couldn't speak english well. Should I see a different one?

the symptoms you've described have nothing to do with male pattern baldness, they are not linked together. if your hair seems fine then its something other then male pattern baldness

It's hard to say. For me, both itchy/flaky/irritated scalp in the form of seborrheic dermatitis showed up at around the same time as male pattern baldness. If you have a pattern forming and miniaturized hairs showing up early in that pattern (temples and/or crown) or diffuse thinning, then it will likely be male pattern baldness. Look at the males hair on both sides of the family.

we can't answer your question with the info you gave us. Your question is similar to asking "I have oily skin, is it going to lead to acne?" Sorry, wish we could be more helpful. Maybe a visit to the derm to check out your scalp condition is in order.
