Hi, I'm 22 years old and my hairline has been receding for the past few years with me doing little about it. I have a fairly stressful job so I'm assuming its been a mixture of environmental and hereditary factors. Im wondering where I should start with treatment and if i can regain any of the hairline lost or only keep whats left, all I've used so far is mild hair loss shampoo as I've been cautious of using rogaine and propecia for the infamous side effects, mainly reduced libido. I'd be prepared to spend the money needed for a transplant but it seems from a newbie perspective this is discouraged until going through other treatment.

You seem to know exactly what you got to do. hair transplant would be a huge mistake, given you dont want to take propecia, as your a diffuse thinner and would need many many more down the line, prob so many that you wont have enough donor density to keep up with it. Propecia can help minimize the amount of times you return for a hair transplant and may also give you enough coverage to not even want one. You have to weigh out the options man. My advice is try the drug, if it doesnt work out for you in terms of sides just drop it, at least you'll know you tried everything.

Have you guys heard of scalp micropigmentation or hair tattoo? I got it done just a few months ago and it changed my life and I wanted to let anyone else who is suffering like I was know about it because it isn't a very well known treatment.
Basically I knew my options were limited and I didn't want to get a transplant because the scars are awful and within years I'd lose more hair so it wasn't an option for me. I was thinning on top a lot to the point so I shaved my hair down everyday and I literally would wear a hat to bed every night because I was so insecure about it. Then I came across this hair tattoo treatment, basically they tattoo thousands of tiny dots to make it look like a hair follicle and you end up looking like you have a full head of hair. The ink they use is made for this so it doesn't fade or any of that bas stuff over time. I personally shave my hair once a week now and keep it short to make it look best and so you cant see the difference where i have hair and tattoo, but it completely changed my life and looks so good. People who are thinning can also get it to make the hair look fuller, but I'll leave the website to the place I went to Hair Tattoo Clinic, if you're in Sydney I would definitely recommend them! Hope I've help someone out!

Would you recommend hopping straight on both propecia and also minoxidil foam? I'd love to regain some of the hairline but would probably be satisfied with keeping what I've got for now

hop on finasteride, give it 6 months to a year. See where you're at at that point and then add in minoxidil. Once you add minoxidil you're applying it morning and night, or morning or night for the rest of your hairs life. So if you can get on just fine on propecia id reccommend that. Also, hopping on minoxidil alone wont stop furhter hair loss.

Hi, been on propecia for 5 months now mostly consistent and these are the results, no side effects from what ive experienced. In my opinion theres virtually zero change which is a positive, if anything with it being a longer length now probably looks slightly better when not being pulled back. Im 23 now, should I also hop on minoxidil foam to see if i could get any growth? Im still unhappy about the receding at the temples mainly and I could afford a transplant, any advice?

Give it a year, your hair isn't too bad, try minoxidil as well for some regrowth, would not recommend a transplant at your age.
