Whey protein shakes speed up male pattern baldness?

It seems like I lost the most hair when I was consuming a ton of protein shakes and lifting weights like crazy. Although I was drinking a lot muscle milk as meal reaplacements at work. I have since decided that muscle milk is just not neccessary to achieve fitness goals whether it effects hair loss or not so I quit it.

I guess there is no way to know for sure but its seems my male pattern baldness itch has picked back up since I recently added 100% whey protein shakes twice per day. It could just be my imagination but it is something I wonder about.

Okay I guess I'm just being paranoid. I still getting used to this whole male pattern baldness thing. For some strange reason I thought going bald was something that just happened to other people not me...

Muscle Milk isn't just whey though..last time I tried it.

My point would be...if you are consuming tons of it or even whey- I suppose you could be over-burdening your digestive system and liver etc. IMO taking less high quality whey(isolate even) is better than tons of less quality protein products.

Enzymes and probiotics may also help.

nothing you eat or drink will speed up hairloss that extreme. maybe ur diet might speed hairloss up by .0000000001 but its ur genetics simple as that. drink all the whey u want man.

Not if it's something new you're eating/doing and to the extreme day after day. An allergic reaction to food can also wreak havoc.

I am going to go ahead then and keep drinking the whey while I work hard at the gym. I still wonder about that muscle milk though. I gained a lot of muscle when I was drinking 2/3 of those a day but that is when I lost the most hair.

Then again I looked at pictures of my dad's hair when he was my age and it looks pretty similiar to mine. From the one picture I could even see the darks hairs that turned thin and blonde. He was a diffuse thinner and so am I.

Your hair loss was probably due more to the fact that you were/are lifting weights like crazy. I began bodybuilding a little under 4 years ago and 4 months into my training is when my hair loss occurred with all the increase in testosterone/DHT that comes along with extreme weight lifting. I was also consuming a vast amount of creatine and whey protein during this time. Deadly combination for your hair if you're predisposed to male pattern baldness, wish I had known this at the time. I'm not telling you to stop lifting weights, but you will need to do your research on how to simultaneously build muscle while minimizing or even stopping hair loss. Your hair loss is most likely due more to weight lifting than whey, but obviously since whey increases your results from working out it may slightly add to hair loss as well. I suggest you take a fuller look at articles on this site and http://www.hairloss-research.org to seek out as much info on this as you can. Good luck to you.

for bigger guys that weight over 200 lbs and lift heavily i recommend skipping the propecia and jumping on avodart. finasteride is more then enuff for guys with lower testerone but from my experience all the heavy lifting puts the dht a bit to high for propecia to help with. im 230 and have huge test levels propecia simple was not enuff.

Creatine is not very good for hair loss but I don't see why prots would cause hairloss.

Be aware that testosterone, steroids, and other stuffs will definitly accelerate the processus of male pattern baldness.

I lift weight 3 time a week, drink prot shakes, and I have no hair loss but I'm on propecia and rogaine though.
