Minoxidil. You will have much better results. Is minoxidil not an option for you?

no minoxidil is not an option. i would to be able to stop using the product if i choose. with minoxidil if i stop im going to wind up in bad shape. If it was only out of those "unproven" products which 2 would u use

I'm not sure what you just said, but I'll take a wild guess.

ANYTHING that works for you, i.e., grows hair on your head where you don't have it now, will need to be used consistently to maintain the results.

You can cease using any of them anytime you want. Yes, any success you've had will eventually revert back to where you would have been had you NOT used them in the first place. It doesn't matter if it's minoxidil, finasteride, your own feces, etc.

So, what you're REALLY saying (without realizing) is that the effectiveness of the treatment you choose is not important to you...because if by some miracle that potion DOES work, then you'll be every bit as tied to it as you would be to minoxidil.

There are a lot of paranoid guys on here. They're afraid of losing hair they haven't even regrown yet...it's completely illogical.

well im only 22 and i dont have any places on my head where there is no hair yet. its just getting thinner, im lucky and got it early. i take proscar already because its easier for me to be completely commited to an internal. i used revivogen for 1yr every other day and had pretty good results. im not one of those people who think if it doesnt give me 16yr old hair then its no good. i just want maintanence and very minor thickening. I know I wont get any results using minoxidil 4 or 5 days a week. i plan on using 1 of the 2 topicals every other day mon-fri and the other topical whenever i can squeeze it in mon-fri.

Like Britannia said, THEY ARE UNPROVEN products. Stop wasting your time and money on them and first start with the proven treatments.

I'll give you some better topicals if you wanna go all out.

Prescription Proxiphen
RU

But imo i would add some minoxidil forsure for regrowth. Even once per day of a 15% minoxidil.

im thinking about using the minoxidil foam when that comes out. and proxiphen has minoxidil in it so i wont use that plus its way to expensive. do u think minoxidil can be effective if used mon-fri 1x per day. and also when is the minoxidil foam supposed to come out?

Don't Understand

I dont understand the reasoning behind some of these posters who are so worried about having to use something long term.

Wouldn't you be content with taking something everyday for the rest of your life if it gave you the best chance to regrow the hair that has left you and made you paranoid enough to visit these forums??

Personally, I am noticing regrowth on my temples right now and I would rather keep taking it considering the only alternative is going bald anyways...the way i see it, we have 3 options...

#1 Do not use anything and go bald.
#2 Use uproven products only to become so desperate after continued hairloss that you begin to use the ones that people mentioned in the first place.
#3 Give yourself the best chance of fighting this and get on the Big 3 and give it time to work without even thinking about the potential for taking it the rest of your life.

People take things everyday for the rest of their lives in order to keep them in whatever state makes them feel best. If you happen to get on minoxidil and it doesn't work as well as you had hoped, you can stop and become bald any way. But without the treatments that have been tested and found to work, baldness is inevitable. So give it your best shot!!!

I have no problem using minoxidil forever if it gives me some hair. If it gives me no hair i'll stop using it after a year. I do not see the big problem.

Refuse - what everyone is saying is that the "topicals" you've mentioned probably won't do much for your hairloss. No one can recommend them for that reason. For some reason, however, you won't rest until someone validates your stance....

Given that, the only solution is for you to pick two and learn the hard way. In 12 months you can come back, frantic, and try to get your hair back the way it is today. IF that's successful (feeling lucky?), you've probably only wasted 2 years and a few hundred bucks. Like you said, you're young - you can afford the time, no?

Im planning on starting minoxidil 10% (I expect the concentration to be aound 10%) foam when it becomes a reality. I dont expect to see it until 2007 though as trials have only just finished.

has anybody every achieved success using minoxidil 1x per day 5 days aweek. thats the only time my schedule would allow me to use topicals. thats y i say no minoxidil not because i have to use it long term. im taking proscar now i know thats long term. i just dont want to use minoxidil get the big shed everyone talks about from using it then realize im not using enough to offset the shed. also are there any topicals that work good "with" minoxidil. i heard zinc is bad and will cancel the effect

The problems you highlight with applying minoxidil apply to all other topicals aswell. And using it any other than as directed (i.e. twice a day, everyday) is a waste of time and money.

Dude, unless you're someone more important than the President of the United States or a researcher on the brink of a cure for all known diseases, you have 4 minutes per day in which to apply minoxidil. Hell, those guys would have the time too. Wake up 2 minutes before you'd usually do so. Use those 2 minutes to apply minoxidil. Go to bed 2 minutes later than you'd usually do so. Apply the minoxidil in those 2 minutes.

Simple. No more "I don't have time" BS....OK?

Minoxidil CAN be effective if only used once a day. I know of many people who have attained regrowth doing this approach. Don't sweat it.
