I was out drinking with a buddy Saturday night and at another table there was a bald guy who did the shaved thing. Granted he wasn't good looking as in pretty boy but was a good looking guy. He was about my build but he just looked good with a shaved head.
He had a good looking girl with him who was obviously his GF or wife. Didnt really check, but he didn't appear whooped either.

Occasionally youll see it. Guys who can pull it off. have a decent enough shaved look and a hot chic.

Let me ask,

Is it the hairloss in general or that fact you feel you don't look (or actually dont look good like myself) with a shaved head?
I think for me its that I don't look good with it. Like if I was one of those guys who could do it it wouldn't bother me as much..... what about you?

If you could pull it off would you be here?

it's about not being able to pull it off, and the confidence issue associating with not having hair. it's hard to muster the strength to feel like your former self, physically, and personality wise. Respect to those who can act no different and not let anything get in their way.

I could pull off the the shaved look, but what's holding me back is that my hairline isn't low enough, and it would throw off my facial proportions.

What you will notice about most the men that can pull it off is they typically have a strong lower third, and a small forehead, that doesn't emphasis on the 'hey look i'm bald and this is my massive chrome'. The forehead is small, and relative to a broad facial structure that put's more projection on your features rather then your lack of hair.

Fred, are you sure you have the right physical features to pull off a bald look. Big difference from buzzing too slap head.

You have a pea sized chin, jaw, and have a skinny-fat physique. What you do have in your favour is a tall stature, and confidence from what Iv'e noticed.

I think I have pulled off the bald look successfully since my mid to late 30's,but I am a perfectionist and that's an affliction which can't be cured.
My outside world is nearly perfect as it gets besides my hair loss. It's my inner world and how I feel inside about my hair loss that is such a burden to me.

Fred pulled it off fine. He has the physical attributes for it (in shape, tall, good melon shape, ect).

I know how you feel all to well. The most painful thing about hair loss is how quickly it can effect your drive, and mood once you're faced with reality, and the mirror. Going from go-getter to feeling self-concious in a matter of seconds.

If it makes you ugly then you have a problem. If it makes you bizzare looking then you're really screwed.
If it doesn't then it's not a big deal, and if I looked in the mirror and saw myself as a good looking guy with a shaved head, no jokes or hate could touch me. On the planet I am from, the real life, bald guys do get women and girlfriends and live a normal life, & are not treated with disgust or hatred purely because of baldness itself, it's because of the lack of aesthetics.

Don't think I could pull of shaved, haven't tried it. Buzz I could pull off. Either way I like hair because I look less good without it and it's part of my identity. Swingline like you I have been out a few times recently with some interesting interactions, will make a thread at some point.

the day i buzz my head is the day I go against all my principles and get a rug. I could never pull it off my facial proportions would be all off, I would look terrible and I'm sure society would get great pleasure in reminding me.

If only I looked better I would have just kept shaving it. Seeing my crown tonight was the most tear jerking thing in a while

I could pull it off if I had to. I just don't like the look personally. Not saying that I would be great looking with a shaved head, but I wouldn't be hideous either. I know shaved is different than buzzed, but I have been taking it down to a #2 for years and I think I look alright that way. If I had that "screw it" attitude, I would just shave my head and get the hell off these sites. Unfortunately for me, I don't.

yeah I can get by but Im not "attractive" and noticed and BIG difference in the way women react to you, how I felt about myself, how my co workers saw me etc etc. I meant buzzed but as soon as you are NW5+ you're pretty much shaved even when just buzzing.

MY crown has gotten SO bad. I dont have the money to jump into getting the crown fixed yet. I have no desire to CLUMP on concealer every day. What do you do?
Do I resign myself to being "the ugly bald sibling".
Why work out and diet then? If your pre disposed to being a fugly POS then whats the point. to go from being a 4 to MAYBE a 5?

Swingline, is the hair transplant holding up in the front? A crown can be concealed better than the front.
Did you post more recent pics?

I have to get some touch ups done in Feb. I just got back from talking to the Doctor. The reaction I had caused some of it to not take well so the temples were a disappointment. Im just all around pretty much a genetic failure. Good to know people thought they were SUCH GOOD breeding material. Dumb asses. Why are me and my brother the ones who have to responsibly say enough is enough. Well pretty much setting myself for a lonely existence just like my idiot pops, while watching my brother with hair live up life well into his 40s.

even though, the back is SO embarrassing now why bother keep fighting.

Im am so afraid to see how I look with a shaved head....

Anyway, started hitting the gym and wow, there is a dozen of bald guys that really can pull it off and have confidence. One of them is talking to a bunch of girls all the f*****g time, I mean between the sets.

preamature balding is so hard

Bald guys are there to compensate... duh.
