The standard Lace front support (not thin). Is this tape meant to be a lot weaker than ultra hold because it literally did not last very long before it broke down really badly.Which Lace Front? Thin or support?
That doesn't make any sense as to why it's called no-shine if it still shines through!I would say Walker no-shine is probably a good idea for the hairline, but I get so much shine through the lace with it that you'd think I had varnished my head!
For some reason I get like 2 days out of any glue - white, clear, silicone… it doesn’t matter. It very well could be user error however I’ve tried many ways of doing it and just have chalked it up to body chemistry?
Initially I did expose my hairline but I feel now that it’s really not worth the effort. Ensuring the hairline is always on point is stressful and gets harder when it thins out.Are you going to expose your hairline is the biggest question?
I expose mine and have tried dozens of solutions and Walker lace front thin is the best however I only get about 4ish days out of it. Lace front regular is good as well but I will get maybe 6 days out of it however it’s a little more noticeable than the thin because the thin is just glue on a backing. Both products will break down into goo if you wait too long.

why not use a longer lasting tape such as ultra hold? Is it really that obvious that someone is wearing a hair system with this tape on the front hairline?If it’s not exposed then it doesn’t really matter what you use because no one can see it.
I hate hair on my forehead so I make it work. I will often times go an entire week with one of the two lace front tapes even after it has broken day. I will around day 4 clean my hairline gunk with a rag and alcohol. It’s not 100% but it takes away my fear of it being obvious to others. I have sucked it up and made the decision that I will just have to clean the goo mess up. I redo my hair every Sunday night before the work week starts that way it starts breaking down around Friday or so and I can wear a hat on Saturday if need be.

Most definitely. Even with the “low profile” versions of some tapes it’s pretty noticeable. You see a “lip” I guess I would call it. If someone isn’t staring at your hairline they probably wouldn’t notice, but it’s a bit uncomfortable feeling to me to push it that far and I’m a big proponent that we are our own worst critics. I truthfully don’t think there’s a tape on the market that I have not tried for my hairline that looks as good as as the front lace versions. There is a tape that the guy who owns Advent Hair recommended to me called Elastibond and he said it was 5mm which I was skeptical about cause that would make the 2nd thinnest tape out there but I ordered it anyways. I emailed Trutape to verify the 5mm claim and got a response of “it’s pretty thin, no more than 7mm”. Well, to me those 2mm are a big difference and it was kind of off putting that the company didn’t know exactly the number. I ordered anyways and I actually liked it pretty good however it had this yellow tint to it and it was definitely not clear. I emailed the company back and they responded this time by saying it does have a slight discoloration and that they do wish themselves it was more clear.
I was using that, but I get two or three days and then it's starting to lift when I come out of the shower.A better solution is Walker Tape Ultra Hold adhesive in my experience. I've tested in under bright lights (using a mirror) and it doesn't seem to produce any noticeable shine to me). Don't spread it on too thick, and one coat seems enough for me since it has a VERY strong hold. Make sure it's dried enough before pushing the lace down onto it.
That’s the lace front thin tape that I’ve been referring to. Def not easy to work with however you do get better at it the more you use it.There's a 3mm tape that I've used, more like glue than tape as such, but it's not easy to apply, get the backing paper off cleanly to be able to lay it down evenly across your forehead. Also quite messy to clean off.
I alternate between lace front and lace front thin. If I really need that extra day or 2 or hold I’ll do lace front.
