Assuming you have been on finasteride for some time. If you use minoxidil for a few months and achieve some density improvements then stop applying minoxidil - will the lower DHT levels from finasteride prevent the new hairs from falling out?
No. They work by separate mechanisms so if you start minoxidil then you have to stay on it to keep its gains. You can't "maintain" them with finasteride only. It seems like so many hair loss forum users make this mistake with disastrous results. It would be like saying, "I've been drinking beer and weed tonight and I feel really good. But if I cut out the weed and drink only beer, can I stay both drunk AND high?"
