Whoever/whatever created us is obviously pretty cruel...

Losing the hair right in the middle of your head looks like sh!t on most guys... Why can't we lose the sides and back, but keep the middle? That would actually look good. If men balded like that I wouldn't even be taking finasteride right now.

Life was an (bad) accident. No creator. But do not be so harsh with your own situation. Look at the other animals.. one would wonder: what the f*ck is this???

Only reason to say 'god' is pretty cruel is just a means of putting blame on the source. Of course this isn't possible, as we all know god isn't real. Genetics are pure chance but whats guaranteed (and can be blamed) is societys extremely sh!tty treatment of us.

I actually made a thread talking about that if men went bald the opposite way, by losing their hair on the back and sides of the head and keeping it on top. I think people would just be suspicious of men with long hair.

But do not be so harsh with your own situation.

I'm not harsh with myself having male pattern baldness. I look at my male pattern baldness as a major inconvenience that I have in my life and not some kind of a curse or cruel joke from mother nature.

I guess genetics are a pure chance in some form. Yes, society is extremely biased and ignorant about alopecia and those who suffer from it. Though I'm just wondering hellouser, have you ever actually been treated less of a person because of your alopecia?

Genetics is not necessarily pure chance. Was your dad bald? If so, there was a damn good bet that you would be too. Similarly for your mom's side.

Looking at it from the outside, reproduction is quite entertaining. Good looking people produce good looking kids. And these good looking kids eventually marry other good looking people and continue the cycle. If however, you are not good looking, you are screwed. Your kids are screwed (as you will only be able to reproduce with other ugly people). Your grandkids are screwed. It takes enormous effort and work to pull your progeny line from the ugly camp to the not ugly camp.

Every single one of us thats NW2 and up has at least been affected by it even without knowing, as in, indirectly. For example; you go in for a job interview, everyone is all smiles, but the dude with the same credentials as you gets the job but only because he's got his youth from his hair. It's a silent snubbing. Then there's other times where women will mock you for it (happened to me before) or coworkers will tell you to get married soon or you never will because your balding, only to follow up their comments with laughter.

Grandfather on mothers side turned into an NW3 in his 20s. Stayed that way until he died at age 77. I've developed everything exactly the same as him. On my moms side, great grandfather had a full head of hair however if you look at her cousins/distant cousins some guys have hair loss and can only think of ONE person with full NW6 loss... but for this I'd have to go back like 3 or more generations to have a connection with. My dads an NW1 with a bit of (normal) thinning in his crown at age 56. Grandfather on dads side died at around 60 years of age also as an NW1. Nobody is past an NW3 on my dads side (his cousins, uncles or other grandfathers).

Looks like I got the sh!t end of the stick unless I get somewhat lucky like my grandfather and stop progressing with hair loss and remain as NW3 for life (which I can bring down to NW2 with a single FUE).

In my case, my dad went NW6 before he was 18, and same for grandpa. So in my case, it was a given.

That's a good sign - at least you have a chance it may not get real aggressive. For me, Mum's side all have full hair, maybe mature hairline or some minor temple loss. Dad's side - BALD FULL ON. Norwood 5 -7. But they all began losing it in their mid 30's and later.

I have had a receding hairline since 24, now 29, so my pattern I can't directly link with anyone.

Mum's side? Aggressive to the max from your Dad's side.

Baldness is there (grandpa NW6, Uncles NW4-NW5), but not as aggressive as my dad's side.
