Why Are My Shed Hairs Not Growing Back?

For the last 2 years, I've been losing hair through diffuse hair loss, but for the last month or two, I've been shedding pretty bad around the front of my scalp. However, I haven't seen any signs of regrowth so far, which is very concerning. The thing is is that the hairs that are falling out are thick hairs, so it's not like the follicle died, right? Will these hairs grow back? Other factors to consider: I have a very sensitive scalp to dandruff and inflammation, so maybe that's something that needs to be considered.

Go to Dermatologist and have them examine you and maybe do a biopsy.

You could have defuse alopecia aerate, androgenic alopecia or Telegen Effluvian (not sure how to spell it but it basically means hair goes into resting phase for various reasons/triggers)

What makes you think you'd have regrowth while being on no treatments?

Because the way hairloss works (correct me if I'm wrong), your thick hairs fall out, and when the follicle grows back a little bit smaller so the hair is a little bit thinner. This keeps happening until the follicle gets so small that it dies. For me, thick hairs are falling out with no regrowth whatsoever (or at least I think so, maybe I just can't see it).

You probably cannot see it.
Unless there was a way to identify each hair, how do you know which one is replacing which?
