It does seem to be quite slow in some. Actor Larry Lamb was probably a Norwood 3 in Essex Boys I think, 10 years later he's in Eastenders, and he hair hasn't got too much worse considering in 10 years some people go completely bald from a full head of hair.
Everton player Tony Hibbert's hair hasn't got too much worse either over time (He can't take any meds either).
What really sucks is you are never safe from the balding gene. It could be turned on at even a late age in life. I honestly thought if by the age of 35, you have very minor thinning or basically not even a NW2, you will most likely never bald FAST after that age due to lower levels of testosterone. But according to hair transplant docs it can still happen quickly in your 40's, 50's and 60's. However, what I really don't understand is why Propecia is more effective in younger men than older men who just started to bald later in life when their testosterone levels decline.Tdevil said:Hammer87 said:Is it genetic how fast it happens?

You can have a full head of hair, reach puberty, and be a shiny NW6 by the time you're 25 (a good friend of mine).
You can have a full head of hair that begins receding rapidly and then stabilizes to a NW2 by your 40's (a guy I work with).
You can have a full head of hair and die at 76 with a dense Norwood 2.5 (my grandfather).
You genes have your hair's fate planned out for you. The question is, when will they decide to carry it out?

I don't think it's genes though; I always bought Armani or Levi, and all the people in the adverts have great hair.

Since hair is made of protein, my basic conclusion would be protein would if anything help?

Just another theory made up by people who dont want to accept the facts.
