Why do women have a different pattern baldness than men?

I understand that men have more DHT, and therefore they are more likely to lose their hair than women and at a much younger age, but why is the pattern different? Most women who end up balding thin all over on the top of the head. Women don't really get the receding hairline that men get or the bald spot on the crown. Anyone know the science behind this?

Even among men there's a great diversity of pattens. Receding hairline, temple loss, diffuse thinning, and crown thinning represent four free parameters, I think.

I understand that some men have a diffuse pattern, but the common male pattern is receding hairline and crown loss then it spreads. The common pattern for women is more of a diffuse pattern, and almost all women with hair loss have that pattern.

I have seen some women with receding hairlines.
They still don't lose in the same pattern as men, or even close
