why don't doctors address the issue of scalp inflammation?

It seems that everyone here has an inflamed scalp. Well, mine is inflammed and tender and hurts to touch, but the strange thing is, i never hear about doctors adrressing this issue. My dad, who has lost alot of hair on his crown, says he never had any pain on the scalp. I wonder why that is?

Also, has anyone made any significant progress fighting their hairloss by eliminating the pain/inflammation?

My scalp started hurting before treatments, so i know its not due to that. Im also worried about Cu peptides cause alot of people say they cause more pain than relief. Anyone had any luck with them not for inflammation necessarily, but soreness?

I don't suffer from any pain on my head, maybe people who suffer from agressive hairloss get the pain.

I do get the tingling tickly sensation around the hairline at the moment. It feels like individual hairs are moving or falling out. Not sure which tbh.

At first i use to get bad inflammation but Nizoral and a good conditioner has done the job ever since. Incidently once the inflammation was out of the equation i started to notice regrowth.

Most doctors dont address inflamation and hairloss is because they know very little on this field! For example I went to the dermatoligist and I said I have seb dermatitis which I think is cauising excessive hairloss! He tells me dermatitis doesnt cause hairloss... Any hairloss from rashes will regrow! ...Most doctors practice the same kinda theory because thats how they were trained in school to believe!

Well any idiot can see when someone has excema on there arms or face... there is no hair there were the rashes occur! ..and when the rashes heal the hair does not grow back because the inflamation from the rash pushed out the hair from the root or was easily removed by just simple rubbing or washing the area! Remember the skin which is inflamed is a lot more sensitive and because of a rash it makes the hair shaft in the area a lot weaker!

I wish more dermatoligist were better trained in various hairloss and not just prescribed to the theory that hormones cause hairloss!

Thanks for the replies guys.

I dont have seb dermatitis, though according to my derm i do have psoriasis on parts of my scalp. But, it doesnt seem I have any scarring, so thats a good thing.

Anyway, it's good to know that some people are noticing regrowth after controlling the inflammation. Matgallis, its probably a little early to tell if you've gotten regrowth, but definitely keep us updated.

I have used Neutrogena Visibly Firm which has Copper Tripeptide1 for both my face and scalp It's so much cheaper than anything else and works wonders for dry scalp and dry skin age spots, wrinkles, etc..

Scalp inflammation only seems to happen in people with aggressive Male Pattern Baldness. I started getting hair loss when I was 17 and it started itching insanely around this time aswell.

I would second that. My temples started itching uncontrollably during the start of male pattern baldness. But during that time, my hair was still pretty thick. After i got on propecia, all the itch was gone. Btw, 2 yr time gap from when my itching started. I do notice my friend, who's starting to recede in his temples, scratch that area often.

And yes, i was told the same crap by docs everywhere: Eczema, psoriasis blablabla. I had tons of shampoos and what not but they only gave temporary relief; my hair follicles were still being damaged inside!
