after quitting finasteride and minoxidil, the only thing that allows me to sleep at night is the fact that i will soon be trying out the hair system route. i have been doing research for a long time now, posted questions in several forums and to me it seems like too little people even consider them a solution.

have a look at this, im gonna myself as an example here...

the money is spend on supplements, drugs and concealers (finasteride, minoxidil, zinc, omega3) monthly is about the same one of the cheaper hair system will cost me. the time i spend carefully styling my hair to get the absolute maximum visuals of the little hair i have left, plus the time i spend worrying and looking into the mirror telling myself how shitty i look is definitely less than the 2-3 hours a week mantaining a hair system will take me.

the reason (i believe) why most people dont consider this route is

a) cosmetic

despite it giving you the hair of your dreams people are afraid of it looking fake

b) psychological

the anxiety of not being caught and the feeling of being a walking lie. the paranoia of not letting any girl touch your hair ever etc...

however... i already am a walking lie lol, i appear to have waaay more than i actually have, and i am already paranoid of people noticing my balding, people thinking "what a weird haircut, he is probably balding" and i already am freaked out when girls get close to my hair. i cant be the only one that feels like a hairpiece will make everything better, and is in every way superior to treatment with drugs.

so to all you young baldies who are nw3 or worse,
why dont you consider getting a hair system? share those toughts

I would never go that route. Of course, I did go through with a transplant a few months back.

At least with a transplant, its YOUR own naturally growing hair. Even with concealers, which I've used in the past, you're blending them in with YOUR hair.

Hair piece. . . could never do it.

I'd feel like a phoney. I think I'd obsess about my hair even more so than I do now!

Just my opinion.

Its abit obvious if you have noticible hairloss one day and then turn up with a NW1 the next. Everybody will know about it.

Yeh I can't imagine it working for many people unless they move away from their normal work/social group. It's too radical a change.

I don't even dare hop onto concealers because I believe people I know would spot the change in thickness and start examining me more closely. It's a shame because I think concealers would work really well for me.

At least with meds I know that even though my hair has changed a bit visually (thicker and darker) if people wonder why and look close they're still just seeing my own hair.

If hairpieces work for you then go for it, I wish that was a viable option to me.

Wearing a hairpiece is like having a prosthetic leg. It may be a leg but eventually you will have to take it off during sleep, it doesn't regenerate, you can't build muscle on it etc.

Same with hair. It doesn't grow, doesn't regenerate and wears out pretty quickly What is the point of wearing a hairpiece if you have to be constantly conscious about it? You will have to tell your future gf about it.

And you got to rely for the supplier to give you good quality regulary. What if he suddenly goes out of buisniess or is unable to deliver for some reasons. Then you are left with whatever Norwood you was from the Norwood 1 - 2 you was with hairpiece in a instant.

minoxidil, finasteride or whatever else you take is not THAT supplier reliant. finasteride is finasteride and minoxidil is minoxidil. A temporary vehicle change is np
