Hi all, back again for a while since im unable to sleep. This hair loss issue keeps me up at night, every night. So far the treatments im on are not helping. Infact, im losing more hair daily than i ever have in my life. Showers i lose about 100 strands now, and at least 50 when drying my hair. I probably lose about 250 hairs a day and it is just the worst feeling. 5 months ago i was a solid NW2, now im definitely a 3 with thinning hairline and completely bald temples and im not even 20 yet.
I am 5 months and 2 weeks in on finasteride and almost a month on oral spironolactone ( dont judge me ) with horrendous results.

My really running out of options besides minoxidil, which i couldnt commit to, i have long hair and there would be no way i could apply it without my hair loss becoming all too obvious. Sure there is dutasteride but with the awful "results" im experiencing with supposed treatments im really not optimistic about it.

Has anyone tried everything to no avail? And i mean almost everything; finasteride, dutasteride, oral spironolactone, androcur, RU, oral minoxidil with zero results?
Because being on two of six and only experiencing some of the worst shedding ive seen on this site it doesn't make me feel good at all. Even if my loss was slowed down that would be a miracle. I just dont understand how my hair could possibly be getting worse alot faster if im blocking T AND DHT? Aren't those two hormones the reason for Androgenetic Alopecia in the first place??
Not only is my hair awful and requires alot of hair spray to conceal loss now but i have irritating and painful side effects!

I am so confused and so depressed right now guys. I cant ever seem to catch a break :/

Man, I cant imagine how bad you must feel. It must be awful when youre using treatments beyond what we consider effective, and still losing ground. I assumed oral spironolactone was literally a cure for hairloss. Have you been stopping and starting Min? That's notorious for causing shedding.

spironolactone can, and will stop your hair loss. One month is too early to say, you will shed a lot, A LOT more than what is going on now.. And it will probably go on for another two months. Cut your hair shorter and just wait for regrowth, it is practically impossible to lose hair from Androgenetic Alopecia if you're on spironolactone.

I'm curious about this. Can oral spironolactone regrow hair also or is it prevention only?

False. I used spironolactone for well over a year and a half and it did nothing for me except give me slight gyno. The only thing that worked for me was the combo of dutasteride and oral minoxidil. That poster from HLH who clamied to have regrown all of their hair on spironolactone was a charlatan who failed to mention that they were actually also taking a cocktail of hormones as an MTF transsexual.
