The answer is simple : because it attacks the problem from many sides : stimulating hair growth with minoxidil, inhibiting dht with duta and healing the scalp with. I believe that hairloss can have many causes in the same time that's way propecia or minoxidil by it self woulfn't work.
Courage boys!!
Peace

Healing the scalp meaning preventing inflammation (nizoral) which can disrupt hair growth. They are the perfect arsenal in beating hairloss and nothing present is more effective for restoring your hair. :)

1. I don't think dutasteride is among the big 3. It's finasteride, minoxidil and nizoral.

2. With...what? Nizoral? Just checking.

3. I find it ridiculous that someone would still be losing with finasteride and minoxidil and somehow be on the gaining side if he included nizoral in his regimen. I mean, it isn't like Nizoral is among the FDA approved treatments for male pattern baldness.

Anyway...as follicle said up there, I will probably include this in my regimen and see what happens...follicle, if my hair gets destroyed by this..you're dying. :woot:

propecia and duta work by the same way : internal dht inhibitors.

The problem with people with who minoxidil/fina is not working that the scalp is still inflamed so even if we are lowering dht levels we are not solving the problem of the scalp. I think that the main problem with alopecia is in the scalp: ignoring this point would make other treatments inefficient. Sorry for bad english

Keto is FDA approved, so yeah, nizoral is part of the big three.

"The big 3" is something we hair loss sufferers made up, not the FDA.

The FDA only approved minoxidil and finas for male pattern baldness.

I'm not saying Nizoral is useless because it's not. It's very benificial, actually, not just for the hair but for the scalp as well. It "sets the stage" if you will, meaning it gets the scalp ready better than any other shampoo for regrowth, so I respect it. I'm just saying the FDA doesn't approve of it but that is ok. The FDA is among the most strict groups anyway.

Keto is an anti-androgen so it's obviously good. Not as strong as finasteride of course but still.

Nizoral is not fda approved for hairloss. Technically speaking t-gel should be part of the big 3 it was used in the fda trials based on the belief that inflammation could hinder regrowth possibly caused by propecia (rendering it less effective). So there might be some truth that an anti inflammatory agent may be required for effective results when using both finestride and minoxidil. Hence the important big 3.

http://www.gourmetstylewellness.com/hair-loss-news/News-sid-249-file-article-pageid-2.php

The reason that t-gel isnt part of the big 3 is because of a small study that suggests that nizoral has a stimulating effect as well as anti inflammatory effect on hair unlike t-gel which is just anti inflammatory. Based on this notion nizoral was favoured by hairloss users to use alongside the other fda approved drugs finestride and minoxidil for an important hairloss treatment.
