Helloo everyone, so around the time i was taking minocyline for acne i noticed my frontal hair was getting thinner. That was the first sign of hair loss, my juvenile hairline rising a bit at the temples, and although it is still within the measurements that i read on balding blog to be a mature hairline the hair is what i think to be miniaturized only at the edges and thick behind that. Im shedding what i think is an abnormal amount of hair but not just hair that is miniaturized as im losing hair from the back of my head and even the eye brows. i read that the back of your head was supposed to keep its thickness and remain the same but if if i were to run my hands through the top of my head or the back i would get around the same amount of hairs (1-2) On top of all this is have gotten what i think are pimples all over my scalp, some which are large and painful. I might just trying to find any other explanation other then male pattern baldness but my temples have receded a bit. As for baldness in the family, my fathers just losing his hair now, hes barley a Norwood 2-3 and my grandfather's hair didn't start falling out until he was past 70 and according to my parents no one has ever gone bald early although one of my cousins developed very high temples when he was younger and has the same hair now. Im still young and have had long hair since i was a baby and this is serious freaking me out and causing me to worry about it all the time. I went to my doctor who said the receded temples was just something that happens to men my age and said i should check for thyroid problems but he never gave me a straight answer on whether he thinks its male pattern baldness even tho my hairline has receded about .5" i the front and around 1" in the sides and still has slight miniaturization. I hope someone could give me some suggestions on if they think this must be male pattern baldness or if its possible to be anything else. Btw their is no thinning in the crown or anywhere else besides the hairline im just losing a lot of hair. Thanks for your time.

Just to edit the scalp condition i have is ca;;ed seborrhoeic dermatitis, which is linked to hair loss but im not sure if this explains the miniaturization.

Its possible but really need pictures. The amount of hairs you lose in the shower or by rubbing your hair is irrelevant. Its only an issue when they dont regrow. Hairline is usually first to go.

Post pictures. You still too young for finasteride anyway so take pictures over the next few months until you 18 then you will have a better idea of whats happening. DONT worry about it now. You wont be bald this time next year.
