Perhaps not. But I do have a question. (might Charleston later)

I have probably read everything available to me now on hairloss and finasteride.
My synapses are all occupied, but there's one thing I never really got a full answer for.

Feeling great after my first week of finasteride and I am committing long term. I can see I am probably in for a huge shed...

I see on my temples where it has been creeping back for a while then accelerated quickly, there is still a gap where it is much thinner, but the odd strong hair, and alot of very short fine hairs, they almost look like they would certainly be next in line to turn into colourless vellus hairs without finasteride.

Can someone tell me what is meant when people say something along these lines,
-If you have some hair there it will thicken/grow there.
-Smaller thinner hairs will come back stronger/more numerous.
-It will thicken up behind the hairline.

These things I have seen written over and over, Do I take it literally for my case

I realise speculation is pointless and I MAY or MAY not see improvement maintenance in the coming year or so ect ect ect

I don't really care about getting to NW1 or close to that, but If I could close that gap where it has been very recent, that would make all the world of difference to me.

I think what they mean by that is that finasteride won't GROW you a new hairline. Whatever level your current hairline is, it will stay that way. The only finasteride might possibly due is thicken up the hair behind the hairline and the hairs on the actual hairline, this giving an illusion that it is longer than it actually is.

I'm in the same boat as you, I had a near perfect hairline but one side (the good side) all of a sudden started thinning like crazy 3 months ago. It just disaapeared. I used to leave my hair down without combing it and it looked perfect, but because it thinned so much I have to comb it to the side slightly or else it just sits there and tickles my forehead. I've been on finasteride for a week as well. Here's hoping it thickens both of our hairlines at the very least.
