my temple points are going on each side, they have been slowly but steadily getting worse and i was just wondering since im almost 2 months into finasteride, would it be possible to preserve my temple points also. the points are quite thinned out now but i shave my sides and back to .5 so when i fade it it still looks intact. Has anyone had this problem and has finasteride helped preserve the temple points?

Mine have grown out believe it or not. In that hairline pic I put you may not be able to see it well, but the right temple point has come forward half cm. Happened quite early on finasteride. Generally apparently don't eexpect much except maintenance.

In my opinion everyone responds differently to finasteride. Some might see noticeable temple regrowth and some might see none at all. 2 months is obviously too early to know for sure what kind of results you'll get.

I've been on finasteride now for about 4 1/2 months and I haven't notice any improvement in my hairline. It is still very thin and the temple points are just wispy hairs and very see through. My best advice would be to just keep on keepin on with the finasteride for at least a year and see where you're at then. Best of luck buddy!!

thanks wolf! thats motivating to hear. I sometimes get anxious because my brother told me he saw regrowth and thickening when he was 2 and a half months into treatment, so im kind of giving myself that deadline but i also have to take into consideration im using half the dosage he used so maybe i wont see as much regrowth as him and im ok with that since i started at an earlier stage than he did, but i do hope my forelock hairs go terminal! Id also be ok with my temple points as is, but i will remain hopeful for just some thickening there.

Chromio, 4 and a half months in well im guessing you're not losing anymore hair eh? And how about your crown do you feel it has been easier to keep it intact these past couple months? Thanks for the support man!

I got on finasteride 1.25mg every other day to save my temples as well but they've kinda stayed the same or maybe got worse. I have been on this regimen for 3.5 months now but I suppose you gotta wait that 1 year. Keep your head up, its a waiting game fellas

I'm definitely shedding a lot less hairs. My crown has improved but not by much. I'm diffuse thinning on top so some spots are thicker than others. My hair line was alright but I'm starting to feel as if it's quickly moving back. I hope finasteride can thicken up my hairline. For now I dump on a bunch of toppik and I'm good to go.

No problem gi joey. I always suspected anything over 0.5 mg was pretty much the same as taking the full pill - this was from my research. And if that wasn't enough I actually took 0.6 or something for like the first 5-6 months. My hair improved massively within that period which confirmed me to it is effective and not very different from 1 mg (it got very thick). They say you get your growth/thickening within the first 6 months, it may not appear much initially, as the new hairs need to go through more cycles.

Hopefully you will get some regrowth in the forelock but realistically finasteride keeps everything how it is. minoxidil is the best bet for regrowth but you're already on it. Chance of frontal growth on finasteride in baldish areas is apparently 5% or less.

If you still have them possibly it depends if you're a good responder (They didn't save mine btw), if they've gone completely they ain't coming back easily. Youll need to add minoxidil and other growth factors and even then its hard .
