your hairloss is very similar to mine i would like to know the answer as well. but if you want my opinion unfortunately there is a really small chance of rogain work on hairline :((

Rogaine's not going to address the root cause of your hairloss. Look into getting some finasteride as well.

Rogaine works on the hairline and where ever there is hair on your head.

Getting on Finsateride or Dutasteride would slow down hair loss therefore making Rogaine/Minoxidil more effective.

Try biovea.net I've ordered from them twice and been very happy thus far.
- 4 cans of Rogaine foam for £60 which is a lot cheaper than Boots
- 3 bottles of Kirkland liquid for £18

I use foam in the morning and the cheaper liquid at night which keeps costs reasonable.

thanks. i have seen a good deal at lloyds chemist £49 for 3 but £60 for 4 looks better.

a few questions:
1. has anyone used rogain 3 times day and if so what were the results?
2. i have asked this before but what % of users had a shed?
3. when does the shed kick in?
4. will it be more effective if i buzz my hair or cut it very short?

5. long term users what happens if you just stop ? how long does it take to lose it all?

Not used Regaine 3 times in a day but it'd be pointless to do so. They clearly state that using it more than the stated twice a day dose is not going to yield better results. You'd be wasting time and money.

I had a shed, i think a lot of people do (I can't give you a %) but it's supposedly a sign that it's working. I haven't really had any real growth on my hairline or temples though, although saying that, one of my temples looks to be filling in again after 6 months but i'm not sure.

I can't remember when my shed kicked in, but by 3 months or before it should have I think?

I think it would be better to cut it short or get a buzz cut rather than have medium-length hair. It's less messy and gets on your scalp easier. (& it feels liberating I assume)

After discontinue of use, you'll probably lose the hair you regained within 3 months.

If I was you, I'd stick to liquid rather than foam. I used Regaine liquid for the first 4-5 months and started seeing results, and i wasn't even taking finasteride. Switched to foam a couple of months ago and i seem to be noticing more baldness on the crown already.

is there a difference between regain extra strength 5% and the one which does not say extra strength on the box, still 5% and both foam

If they're both 5% Regaine/Rogaine then no, there's no difference.

They may have changed the wording on the packaging simply because 2% (for men) seems to be being phased out so there's no sense in calling the 5% stuff extra strength anymore.
